I have another Y-DNA Christian connection. I am waiting on further information but it does appear that my assumptions are correct in that Addison "Attie" Bailey Christian was not Native American. If in fact Addison Christian was the grandson of Thomas Bailey "Cornstalk" Christian then TBC was not the son of Elinipsico or Chief Cornstalk since the Y-DNA would have been handed down from father to son to grandson etc.
There is however one complication, the Ethnicity is farther off than I anticipated. The individual that took the Y-DNA test shows a ethnicity of mostly British Isles with no Scandinavian, and 43% Central European. My Ethnicity is 50% Scandinavian, with no Central European. This can be somewhat explained by the fact that myself and the other Individual share the same great, great, great, grandfather, Thomas Bailey Kumskaka Christian Cornstalk. We both descend from same Y-DNA based male, but do not share the same maternal families or descendents. However this does indicate that Thomas Bailey Kumskaka Christian Cornstalk was not NA. The key to the ethnicity riddle will be solved by finding what other names are in his list of close relatives. We both share the same Haplogroup R1B which is of European and West Asia ancestry. Native Americans are not in the R1B Haplogroup.
While this does not show conclusive evidence that Addison "Attie" Bailey Chritian was my great, great, grandfather it does show that who ever it was, was a member of his family. My only conclusive evidence is of Course the Death Certificate naming Attie Christian as the father.
What the Y-DNA test and the BETA Ethnicity test has been able to conclude is that I am descended from the Christian family, Tazewell Virginia and that there is no Native American blood in the male lines. This does not rule out the possibility of NA blood in the maternal or female lines.

Looking for any one who has Y-DNA test results for descendents of William Christian, Isle of Man, born 1579-1655, (1608-1663) birth date questionable. I would like to compare DNA results. My 46 marker Y-DNA matches up to William Christian. But would like to compare with others who have taken the test.

Trying to discover information on a P.H. Christian. All I know of him is that he owned a plantation or large farm in Amherst Virginia in 1860. In 1860 the Virginia slave schedule shows him having 5 slaves and they all lived in one slave quarter (house). I am descended from either P. H. Christian or a member of his blood line. trying to make the connection with the Charles City Virginia Christian family. Then connect the line with the Tazewell Christian branch.

Your thinking is correct, no one should accept anything as fact until it can be proven. I am waiting on results from a fellow researcher that is a confirmed descendet of Thomas Bailey Kumskaka Christian Cornstalk. He is also related to me by marriage. The important thing here is that his will be a Y-Chromosome DNA test not a BETA. This will give us a detailed blood line back to Thomas Bailey Christian. It will substantiate all my therories or make me go back to base one.
If Elinipsico was not the true son of Cornstalk, but a Bailey then we would have a verey interesting research item. Problem is there are few articles around telling us much about him. His features could very well have been that of a white man and not an Indian. Ellinipsico was said to be over six feet tall, Cornstalk was also said to be over six feet tall. My concern would be the fact that Chief Cornstalks tribe would have accepted Ellinipsico as a Chief. The mixed blood lines could go back to Cornstalks father. Chief Cornstalk spoke good english, he would have had to have had someone teach his this language. English is said to be the hardest language iin existence to learn because so many words have so many meanings and are spelled diff from how they sound. Cornstalk probablby picked up the english language from one of his many wives who was probably a captive white woman. It would have taken a great deal of time for him to be fluent in english.
Cornstalk is said to have had many wives, thus many, many children, we know of very few of them. The Cherokee Nation for what evder reason is not helpful to researchers seeking information on this family. One would think that they would be the most excited about obtaining the truth of this matter yet they actually remain silent. I have located no official documents from the Cherokee Nation addressing this matter. Which is odd considering Chief Cornstalk was supposed to have been an important chief with dealings with the white man. The silence of the Cherokee Nation over this matter does lead me to believe it would be in their best interest for the whole truth not to be known.

The Isle of Man Christians in TN married Baileys.
The Isle of Man Christians seem to have a very set pattern of naming. One thing is that giving one son the maiden name of his mother is VERY common.
That's why I am 90% sure that our TBC's mom was a Bailey.
What if Elinipsico was the Christian who was kidnapped and he really did marry a woman who was half Indian and half early settler Bailey family?
Also, I am not going to let go of the Indian stories until I see DNA results from indisputable descendants of Cornstalk. They must exist. What if the Shawnee were from early Viking explorers? No one's really sure where the Shawnee came from, from what I understand.
(just having fun with this. don't take me too seriously : )

Thanks, by the way, and this probably should be in the other thread for hunches etc. I like the way this board is getting organized. I did some research on one of the names you gave me. George Riley Christian, on his death certificate it lists Dewey Christian as the informant. My father was named Addison Dewey Simpson. My father was born the same year as Dewey Christian was except he was born in Wyoming County and Dewey was born in McDowel County. Maybe just a coincidence, who knows.

This stands to reason since the BETA DNA test is almost 100 per cent maternal and you are related to the Christians on your maternal side. The Christian DNA would have been passed down to you through your mother, grandmother and gg grandmother etc. The same with your Anderson line, it was handed down through Elizabeth Anderson.

Also want to note that Lewis Christian (father of James) is thought by some to be brother of Nathaniel Christian. This may or not be the case. Your DNA possibly connecting you to Lewis' son James does seem to prove what I have believed all along: that Thomas Christian and Lewis Christian are related.

Lincolnshire is actually Tennessee. Someone misread the TN abbreviation as LNC. On the original handtaken census it is TN. James Christian was son of Lewis Christian. James was married to Elizabeth Anderson. She was a daughter of my ggg-grandfather David Anderson. David Anderson supposedly was from Belfast.
I have been researching these Andersons along with the Christians. Whilst I am only blood related to the Andersons on my dad's side, I am related to Christians on my mom's side. Thos Christian -> Mathias Christian -> Geo Riley Christian -> Carrie Christian. Carrie was my maternal grandmother

This is not exactly theroy but more of combination of fact and theroy. I have been trying to place the Tazewell Christians and the Charles City Christians together. I have been trying to account for Thomas Bailey Christian, being an orphan or white captive. I have now located through BETA DNA Christian families living in Tennesse in the 1700s.
Most family trees and documents show Thomas Bailey Christian as the son of Ellinipsico Cornstalk and Standing Deer Bailey. There are two chief places assigned to Standing Deer Bailey's birth, one showing her being born in Chota, Cherokee Nation. TN, 1755, and one having her born in North Carolina 1755. Standing Deer Bailey was supposed to have married Ellinipsico Cornstalk, born 1n 1748, Shawnee Nation, Ohio. I believe the Cherokee Nation did extend into North Carolina but what would the odds be of Ellinipsico a Shawnee going into NC and finding a bride as compared to crossing the Ohio River and going into TN. I think it would be safe to say she was born and died in TN. There is also one family tree that shows a Nathaniel Nate Bailey, Tennessee, married a Esther Rain and they were the parents of Standing Deer Bailey. This would have made Standisng Deer Bailey part Indian and part white, but since her mother would have been Cherokee she could have been taken in as a memb!
er of the tribe without any problems. She may have carried the name Bailey in honor of her father once she married Ellinipsico because the Indians did not have last names and that was what she was familiar with.
We can place The Christian family in Tennessee, we can place Standing Deer Bailey in Tennessee. If Esther Rain was related to the Cornstalk family then her daughter Standing Deer Bailey would have had plenty of opportunities to come in contact with the Cornstalk family and met Ellinipsico. Either Nathaniel Bailey died and Standing Deer moved in with her mother's family because she was only a child, or Ellinipsico did in fact marry Standing Deer.
It is then possible that Thomas Bailey Christian was born in Tennessee and taken to Tazewell as an infant under the care of Standing Deer Bailey, because of his age born in 1770, he could have passed as a child of Standisng Deer and Ellkinipsico. In 1770 Standing Deer Bailey would have been 15, old enough to have given birth. I say this because Standing Deer kept her last name. Standing Deer may have known who the childs parents were and afforded him the same privilage she gave herself, calling him Thomas Bailey Christian. Since we do not know how old Thomas was when he came under the care of Standing Deer, or when they moved to Tazewell it is possible that Thomas was taken as a young toddler and would only answer to his real name of Thomas until he was old enough to respond to an Indian Name. If Thomas had beend the off spring of Ellinipsico and Standing Deer Bailey then she would have called him Bailey. I believe that for all the Children the story of how Mastin Harm!
an named them after his friends was a ruse to account for how the children came to him already with white mans names. He had these children, people asked how sthey got such names as Christian and Whitt they were simply told that they were named after his friends. I am still puzzled though about Hezekiah Whitt, he was not a child when returned to the white man, yet no where does he elaborate on his stay with the Indians or his history. Hezekiah Whitt was already 10 years old when Thomas was born, he was 17 when taken in by Thomas Mastin. There is no oral tradition, no statements or anything pertaining to the way Thomas Mastin acquired the children. Hezekiah is silent about everything.
The possibility that Thomas Bailey Christian could have been born in Tennesse and taken to Tazewell opens up many avenues of exploration and unfortunately at this rate years of research. But provides a great deal of food for thought.
