Thank you for your quick response the best I have found is a Margaret Christian from I.O.M in 1806 or there abouts born in Marown. My great uncle was Robert Stanley Christian Cowin born Isle of Man in Douglas, His mother was Margaret Elizabeth Christian. So I am asumming whomever Mgt Christian from 1806 married would be the link, but I can't find out who she married. Which may tell me how or if we are connected to Fletcher. Thank you.

We had a similiar story, we were told we were related to Fletcher Christian and our family was from the Liverpool area Jacob Christian who was a mariner, timber merchant and became a boarding housekeeper in Liverpool. He married Octavia Caulfield and their youngest child Rubena moved to Canada. There was alot of years of not knowing we had family in England, they have since been found.
It is not hard to find the descendant of Fletcher Christian, there are many websites. I do have a chart in front of me, Fletcher Christian b 1764 and d 1793 and all his descendant where born in Pitcairn Island, Norfolk Island and New Zealand and area.
So are you related and from England or IOM ? Maybe from a relative or cousin of Fletcher. His parents Charles Christian and Ann Dixon had seven sons and three daughters. I have not found much information on Fletcher's s nieces or nephews or even if he had any. Would like to have more information from anyone out there. Thanks

We were told when we were young that our family is related to Fletcher Christian, however I have not been able to go back that far. Our family is from the Isle of Man originally and perhaps part of them moved to Liverpool, UK. I have only gone back as far as a relative from an 1881 IOM census where she was 73, she was born in Marown IOM in 1806-8, but haven't got further than that. Her name was Margaret Christian with a grand daughter named Margaret Elizabeth Christian who married William Cowin. Maybe someone can tell me if these are in the fletcher Christian tree,or if someone knows anything about the above family. we are from a long line of mariners/seafarers, infact, One of Marg. Elizabeths Son's was on the Carpathia that rescued survivors of the titanic. Thank YOu.
