I have a Sally Christian who married Allison (sometimes seen as Alson) Webb. They had a daughter Miranda who was born on 14 April 1827 "near Peekskill NY". That location was given in Miranda's obituary in 1912.
By 1846, Miranda was in Monroe County, Michigan where she married Hiram Leonard. I have no further information on Miranda's family.
Any help with bursting through this brick wall would be greatly appreciated.

In the Goochland Co., VA Order Book 17 (1787-1788) is the account of an "examination" (probably an inquest) of Turner Christian for "feloniously murdering" his wife Anna Payne Christian on 25 April 1787. It's an interesting document. Five people were deposed, including Captain Samuel Pryor of the Goochland Co. Militia in which Turner Christian was a First Lieut. and then Captain. Another deponent was Susannah Woodson Payne, sister of Anna Payne Christian, who was visiting her sister at the time of the shooting. Apparently Anna had asked Turner to go outside and shoot a pheasant that was "beating", which means making a lot of noise. Turner said that his gun wasn't working. He then went outside to service his flint lock rifle by installing a new flint. In the process of loading and checking the gun it went off accidentally shooting through the weatherboarding of the house and hitting Anna who was inside the house sitting on her bed talking with her sister. The case was remanded to the General Court in Richmond. Unfortunately for all genealogists, the Confederates burned their own city of Richmond the week prior to the signing of surrender at Appomattox and all of the old records were lost. Proof was found in a book published in 1995 by the Library of Congress that indicates that the case did go to trial and states that Turner was acquitted. For all of the descendants of Anna Payne Christian it is safe to say that her death occurred on 25 April 1787 in Goochland Co., VA.
One year later, on 6 Oct 1788, Turner Christian, widower, married Elizabeth Penn Leak, widow of Samuel Leak in Amherst Co., VA. About 1791, three brothers (Turner, George, and Elijah L. - sons of Charles Christian Jr.) plus a cousin (James Christian) migrated to NE Georgia (Elbert and Franklin Co.) and supposedly these four are the progenitors of all of the GA Christians.
I"I've accumulated about 50 documents on Turner Christian and will share. My email is shdillon(a)indy.rr.com. Incidentally, in none of these documents is there a middle name or initial. He has erroneously been identified as Turner Hunt Christian or Turner H. Christian. Turner Christian has an uncle Turner Hunt Christian who resided in Bedford Co., VA and there have been numerous Turner H. and plain Turner Christians. The one who married Anna Payne and went to Elbert Co., GA is simply "Turner Christian".
Good hunting. Sue Dillon
