I do not know about your particular Christian, however both Christian and Neville names are connected directly to British Royalty. Christian is the most well known and aristrocratic name on the Isle of Man. Neville is a very prominant English-Norman family, well known in British history. I am of both families. If you can connect your people to Great Britain, I may be able to assist further.I would also need approximate birth years.

Hello,
I am searching for information on my Great Great Grandfather William Henry Christian. He was married to Eliza Jane Neville and they lived in Montreal, Quebec. My Great Grandfather's birth certificate lists William's occupation as 'carpenter'. I don't know if he was born in Canada or the Isle of Man. Does anybody have any such connections in their research?

Hi all,
I'm looking for any information pertaining to William Robert Christian, 1878-?, born in Liverpool and moved to Old Colwyn, Conwy, Wales after marrying Fanny Ethel Unknown in about 1898. As of the 1911 census, they had 5 children - Elsie Audrey (who moved to Canada), William Thomas, Sarah Ellen, Margaret and Albert Edward.
I can't find much about him other than he was raised in Lancashire (Everton, Liverpool) by his mother Eliza, a widow (although she listed herself as his aunt, and with the last name McLean in the 1881 census). I can't find anything on Eliza, his father, or his wife's family at all. Any help appreciated!
Thank you!
Elizabeth

I have a blog at http://firelands.wordpress.com that tells the history of the founding of the town of Norwalk, Ohio in 1817 during the settlement of the Firelands or "Sufferers' Land," a part of the Western Reserve that was given to "Sufferers" burned out of their homes by the British during the Revolution. The story of one of the early settlers of the Firelands, Frederick Wickham, who left a life as a captain of a Lake Erie schooner to settle in Norwalk and become a newspaper editor, is a major part of this history.
Frederick was a descendant of Frederick Christian, a prosperous merchant in Philadelphia in the 1700s. I post an episode of this history on my blog every Monday and will continue until November 2009. I hope that people interested in the history of the Christian family will be entertained and informed by these postings and fill in gaps and correct inaccuracies in my research.
Thank you for your kind attention. I hope you visit my blog and enjoy my story of the Christian family and the pioneers of the "Sufferers' Land."
