This post is very old but this is my family line also. James Douglas Christian is a 1st cousin to my mother. Let me know if you are still researching this family. My Grandfather (Walter Lee Christian) and Isaac Dayton Christian were brothers.

I am looking for people who have more information on Paul Christian. He is,
I believe, a nephew of my Andrew Christian. Paul's wife was Mary (Polly)
King Sutton. They were married in Kentucky in 1799. Their children may include
such names as Virginia, John B., Napoleon, Robert, Caroline, Sarah, William,
Thomas, Mary, George, Paul, and Gustavers. I have Paul as being the son of John
and Judith Pate Christian. Any help out there? Thanks, Linda

Appears in the Terrell Times-Star, Terrell, Kaufman County, Texas, 25 March 1892..
The negro who was frozen to death near Forney in the recent blizzard proved to be Amos Christian, a man well known to the colored people of Terrell, having once lived here and worked upon the farm of Dr. J. H. Payne. He also worked as a section boss on the Texas and Pacific road but got into trouble by committing a forgery of some kind, and he was taken to Dallas and jailed. He was tried there for the offense, but through some error in the indictment he escaped punishment and before the error could be righted and he re-arrested, Amos following the advice of his lawyer, skipped out. He made his way eastward from Dallas and had nearly reached Forney when he sank from sheer exhaustion and froze to death. On the way he stopped at a house and asked to be let in to warm but his request was refused. He only went a short distance after that when he died. The negro had relatives here who identified the body when found, and last Sunday the remains were shipped to East Texas for !
burial.

To assure American Christians, my chart indeed is to include Thomas Christian, who landed in Virginia in 1657. I had on earlier postings, received many questions concerning Thomas and his connection to William Christian, "Illiam Dhone."
Again my chart shows the ancestors of Thomas. I have no knowledge concerning Thomas's American descendants.

John Christian was born 1752 in Hanover Co, VA. and died in Lexington,
Fayette, Kentucky in the late 1700's or early 1800's ( I have 2 different dates).
Judith was born about 1750 in Hanover and died also in Lexington, Kentucky.
According to Hanover Records, John and Judith several times sold land
adjacent to Peter Christian. Peter is also mentioned along with his wife, Sara(h) as
selling land in Hanover Co. Virginia Peter died in 1812 but I do not know
where. I believe these men to be the brothers of my Andrew Christian, Jr. who
was born in Hanover in 1761 and died in 1837 in Fayette Co, KY. His wife was
Polly (Mary) Hatton born 1772 and died after 1850 in Kentucky. Can anyone help
me with this line? Thanks, Linda Fleming

Subject: [CHRISTIAN] Roll Call Query
My Christians ancestor (plural) is this lady: Trienke (Trientje) Maria
(Mary) Christians
Her name is misspelled in Illinois records which made it difficult for me to
find anything
to begin with. Before I understood the necessity of keeping records of
sources, I did
find a number of her ancestors. Her husband, John Wolff, is the one causing
me the
difficulty.
He was born June 1859 in Illinois; his predecessors are not clear.
Supposedly, they
came from Prussia but their entry point is not clear. I am wondering if,
perhaps,
they entered via New Orleans.

Would like to find out any information about Mary Christian who married John
H. Williams. They both lived in a boarding house run by a Mrs.
Taylor--that's how they met. She died at the age of 36 in the influenza epidemic on 6 Oct
1918 and is buried in Rosehill Cemetery in Linden, NJ. She died in
Elizabeth, NJ. Both her parents were born in New Jersey of German ancestry, but we
do not know their names. She had a son, also named John H. Williams, born in
December, 1917, and he died in January, 2001. We think her full name was
Mary Frances Christian before she married.
Thanks for any help.

I often thought Thomas's father was Nathaniel Christian, but have found no hard tangible proof.
Thomas was raised by Thomas Mastin. He also had a sister Agnes that was raised by Thomas Mastin.

My grandfather was Mose Christian. Lived several places including Bradshaw I believe. There was one son killed in a car accident when he was young - that might have been John but I truly don't remember the name. Other children were Hobert, Ted, Marcie, Leonard and a couple more I can't remember right now.
