Hello,
I am trying to find out more about my ancestors from the Isle of Mann. The only starting point I have is my Great Grandfather John Henry Norman Christian. I know that he was born in Quebec (around Sherbrooke I think) but, from what I understand, his father likely came to Canada from the Isle of Mann. I know that the name Christian is extremely common for the Isle of Mann but I was wondering if anyone might be able to provide some information.

VERY interested in any what/where/when inforamation on this!!Thanks, mary
I'm looking for information on William J Christian, born in 1859 in
England, and (based on US Census records) who immigrated to PA in 1865
or 1868. He most probably arrived in Philadelphia but that is not yet
confirmed. What I've been unable to find, thus far, is information on
his (and his family's) arrival in PA (date, ship, port of departure,
etc.) and any information on family history in England.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Originally from Walton Co., GA, she was in Walton Co. in 1870 with her children. Her daughter Henryetta b. 1853 married Hardy Phillips, constable of Social Circle. Three sons, Daniel E. 1851, Jesse T. 1856, and John L. 1859 disappear around 1880. Does anyone have any information about this family?

I am in the very early stages of genealogy of my "Christian" Family which is from this tree. JAMES DOSWELL CHRISTIAN married Ellen Pryor. They had at least one son, William P(ryor) Christian who married Maria H. Berkeley 11/15/1877 of King and Queen County Virginia. They had a number of children, one of which was my grandfather, George Berkely Christian b.1880, who had two sons, George Berkeley Christian, Jr.b. 1906 and Clyde West Christian, b. 1912 My father was George, and I am an only child. I would appreciate if others have information on the James Doswell Christian lineage. Thanks, Diane Owen

RE: The Marshallite, 1929 John Marshall High School yearbook (Richmond, VA)
Christian, C.
Christian, Grace
This yearbook lists the members of the Senior class of 1929, faculty members, members of the Corps of Cadets, and many members of various clubs (not all). Unfortunately, it does not list the names of the members of the Junior, Sophomore or Freshmen classes (only officers listed for those classes).
I extracted all of the names (& some other information) from the yearbook & have put them on my genealogy web site (total of 13 web pages, containing over 1,900 records; sorted alphabetically by surname).
The link to the first page of these extracts on my web site is:
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~sassytazzy/family/research/1929m...
Or it can be accessed through the "General Research" link on the main page at:
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~sassytazzy/index.html
Please note that I put all kinds of genealogy information on my web site, not just data about the families I am researching. I hope the information I've put online helps someone with their research . . .
Susan :)
