Do you by any chance have the John Christian (b. July 1829 in Switzerland) that I am inquiring about? He married Emely Larden (b.9/1840 in Switzerland) in 1860. They had Frederick b. 9/26/1860, Julia Elizabeth b. 1865, Emeal/Emil b. 7/1872, and Ida (Etta) b. 10/1880. Frederick married Agnes Wilhelmina Louisa Fahrenwald, Julia married John Elmer Stalder, Emeal married Jennie Nagel, and Ida married Ernest Schenk. Do any of these names look familiar? Or do I have the wrong John Christian? I was just wanting to put my feelers out to see if I get anything back.
Please let me know.
Sincerely,
Julie Adams Christian
Inlaw to the Christian family

Lisa,
It would help if you give us an idea of what you have, for instance have you
checked the census records, do you have birth, death or marriage records,
etc.

John Christian and Joanna Farley were my GGG grandparents. John Christian had three spouses that I know of, Joanna was his first wife. John and Joanna had 12 children. John's second wife was Nancy Blankenship, they married FEB05,1841 in Lawrence Co.OH and had two children. John's third wife was Martha Shattock, they married March 07,1853. John died between 1854-1862 in Lawrence Co.OH. I am related to John Christian and Joanna Farley through their son Davis "David" Christian, born Sept.22,1817 in Lawrence Co.OH. Have quite a bit of information and I am always looking to find new info or share what I have. Lisa
Thanks,
I descend from Thomas Farley and Judith Clay who went to Montgomery and Gile
Co, Va.

Faye,
I have no such John in my file.
However, my CHRISTIAN data prior to Charles L is scanty, as much remains
to be transcribed.
Good luck with your search.

Just wondering if your Christians might connect to
mine. My John Christian was born about 1752 possibly
in VA. He married Judith Pate and they were living in
Lexington, KY when John died in 1792. Their children
were Paul, Mary, & Robert. There were 5 other
children, names unknown to me. I descend from Paul
Christian & Mary King Sutton who moved to Randolph
Co., MO. Their children were: Virginia, John B.,
Napoleon B., Robert S., Caroline Coleman, Sara
Tinsley, William S., Thomas C., Mary, Paul, Gustavers,
George Rit. Please let me know if these connect to
your line.

I am still searching for any records that would tie my great grandmother
Louisa/Lovisa Christian as the d/o John Christian and Catherine "Katy" Altizer.

Carter,
John Christian and Katy Altizer are my gggreat grandparents, as well. I
descend through Louisa/Louvisa's sister, Lydia. I think there are also 2 other
sisters, Rebecca (b. abt 1848) and Luvany/Lurany (b. abt 1851). John and Katy
(and family) are in the 1850 census for Tazewell Co., and 1860 census for
Buchanan Co., VA. Lydia Christian was born abt Jan 1839 in Tazewell Co., VA, and
married William Pruitt on 3 April 1856 in Tazewell Co. They had 15 children.
They are my great great grandparents, and ended up in Greenup Co., KY.
John Christian was born about 1804 in VA, most likely in Tazewell Co. He
married Catherine/Katy on 27 July 1837 in Tazewell Co. John's parents were
Thomas Christian (b. abt 1770 in VA and died Dec 1854 in Tazewell Co. Thomas'
father was probably Nathaniel, but I don't have proof of that at this time) and
Louisa Harman (b. abt 1780 and died abt 1818. She was the daughter of Mathias
Harman, Sr. and Lydia Skaggs). Thomas Christian was married to Mary Altizer
(on 21 June 1829, Tazewell Co.) after Louisa Harman died, and coincidentally,
Mary is Katy's sister. Mathias Harman is a very interesting fellow- born abt
1736, he was one of the Long Hunters and a major settler of Tazewell Co., Va.
He is creditted with founding the first white settlement in KY- "Harman's
Station" and a Rev. War soldier.
Catherine Altizer is the daughter of David Riley Altizer (b. abt 1785, died
26 Sept 1854 in Tazewell Co., Va) and Susan ? (could be Sadler or Brewster).
David's father was Emera Altizer (Rev. War soldier) b. abt 1736 in Bingen am
Rhein, Hesse, Germany. He married a Mary Pitzer and had children, then married
a Mary Miller in abt July 1773. David Riley is a son of Mary Miller and
Emera. Emera Altizer died Sept 1819 in Montgomery Co., VA.
It's nice to hear from "family." I didn't know who Louisa Christian married!
