Would like to know if the Indiana Christians are related to Valentine Christian of Columbia Co., PA?
Do they relate to Perry Oliver Christian who was born in 1818 in Pennsylvania? Perry married Christiana Ikeler in about 1846 in Pennsylvania. They were the parents of Sarah, Hiram, Elmira and Horace M, who may have been called Harry M.

The above is a DNA Testing Facility. They might be able to answer your
question.
I have had my DNA sample in the system but have not heard back the results.
It cost me with taxes and all (Kit) $102.00. Not a bad price. They
specialize in Family Tree DNA.

Seeking any info on my missing great-aunt, Lilian Mildred Christian of London, England. She married Malcolm John Walker circa 1936 (in London) and a daughter, Patricia, was born soon after. WW2 broke out and Lilian placed the child in a convent while she took a job as a maid/housekeeper. Malcolm (who was called John) may have been in the war. Lilian never returned for the child and was not heard from again after 1939-40. Rumor has it she emigrated to Canada or Australia with the family for whom she worked. Any info, pls contact me skies(a)fast.net. Thanks!
Dear Kay,
Who would we try to match; some of the Christian's now living on IOM?
If the info available now is correct Thomas would be my 8th great grandfather.

It would also be neat if we could match someone from Thomas Christian with a
male decendant from Gilbert Christian who settled if Augusta Co., VA. My
mother is a decendant of Gilbert and she had quite a few brothers. some have passed
away. Can anyone tell me how long a DNA sample is viable on a cotton swab? In

Joyce, wouldn't you know it? There is already a company that does this sort

of the viability of a sample. Hair would do as well though, wouldn't it?

I would think so--at least some Christians who were there at the time Thomas
came to the U. S. I don't know if any of the Christians on the IOM have had
the test or not.
Kay
It certainly would help clear up a LOT of claims and questions if this were a
viable project. But think of how MANY Christians there are out here!

For years there has been a controversy over whether or not Thomas Christian,
who came to Virginia in the 1600's, descends from the Christians from the Isle
of Man. Have any of his male descendants had a DNA test? It seems to me
that this would be a good way to prove the issue one way or another. My line
daughtered out a few generations ago, so I don't know any direct male
descendants. I wish that one of them would do this test to decide the matter
Kay
For a well-researched history of Fletcher Christian, get the book titled
"Fragile Paradise" by Glenn Christian. Glenn is a direct descendant of Fletcher.
It is complete with the family genealogy.

There is now a Christian Family Project where you can list your direct line by earliest ancestor (on the Patriarch Page). We'll also list your name and provide your email address so that interested researchers can contact you.

We have had wonderful results on the first three family projects where I have done this. It has really stimulated sharing and interest in working out the “paper trails”.
