I am the producer of the Christian Family Chronicles, a 12 Vol set, exclusively dedicated to the surname CHRISTIAN. These were originally published and edited by Agnus Branch Pearlman. There are three or four articles on UK, French Canadian, but did not find Hubert or Jack. But I would like to offer to include your their story in upcoming Vol 13. Jacob and Octavia (Caulfield) Christian of Liverpool had 6 children, Julia W, Alexander, Arthur E, George W., Octavia and Rubena L.
Wishing to contact family members from Alexander and Arthurs lines. Alexander had two children, Alexander Frank Caulfield and Mabel. Alexander FC Christian had two children Denys and a daughter. Alexander, Arthur and George all worked together for George W Christian Co in Nigeria and Cameroon.
Do you have any idea on where these Christians lived? Virginia? New England?
Tennessee? Missouri? It always helps to know the geography.

We have corresponded in past. All the information on the Skelton line prior to William Skelton Rev. War and his siblings is in error. It is not known who their parents were. There are alot of errors but he did a good job with only a pad and pencil. I live only 5 miles from his daughter.

Could the Elijah W. (son of William Christian who was the brother of Elijah Willis Christian, b. 15 Jan 1798 in Madison Co.) be the same one in your message? He was my g-g-g-grandfather born in GA in 1812, married Linnie Hardin in Troup Co. in 1839 then moved on to AR! Is anything else known of him?

I noticed that the Christian Family Chronincles has many Childers and Levina, too many to research for this reply. If you have not reseached them you may be surprised at all the information, and hopefully it will help. You can usually obtain them through inter library loan. If not, I have them on CDROM by permission of the author and find them very helpful in my search. You may contract me directly at :

There's a district in Oppland, Norway called Fåberg. There appears to be at least one farm called Balberg in that district.
Investigation into the birth/baptismal records for that parish might prove productive.
Checking the 1865 Norwegian census shows an attached farm called Balberglein with an interesting widow and her family residing -

Hope someone can help me find info on this family.
William Omar Christian b. abt 1904 in Georgia. His father, I was told, was Omea Christian also b. in Georgia.
William O. married "Merle". Found them in 1930 Georgia census
Jackson County, Newton Township
Christian, William O., Head, M, W, 26
Christian, Merle, Wife, F, W, 20
Christian, Ruth, Daughter, F, W, 6
Christian, Hazel, Daughter, F, W, 4 3/12
Christian, Charlotte, Daughter, F, W, 1 6/12.
Also had a fourth child named William Donald b. 11/26/1930. This was my father-in-law which died in 1970, Greenwood, SC.
William O. had a sister, Evie Christian Dickerson which died in 1977 Oglethorpe County, GA. She was born July 2, 1898. Her will list two other siblings as Etta Christian and James W. Christian.
Anyone have any clues to the siblings and/or the father of William Omar Christian??

>For those of you who are interested in ancestry...............
It was the first day of census, and all through the land;
The pollster was ready ... a black book in hand.
He mounted his horse for a long dusty ride;
His book and some quills were tucked close by his side.
A long winding ride down a road barely there;
Toward the smell of fresh bread wafting up through the air.
The woman was tired, with lines on her face;
And wisps of brown hair she tucked back into place.
She gave him some water ... as they sat at the table; And she
answered his questions ... the best she was able.
He asked of her children ... Yes, she had quite a few; The oldest
was twenty, the youngest not quite two.
She held up a toddler with cheeks round and red; his sister, she
whispered, was napping in bed.
She noted each person who lived there with pride;
And she felt the faint stirrings of the wee one inside.
He noted the sex, the color, the age.
The marks from the quill soon filled up the page.
At the number of children, she nodded her head;
And saw her lips quiver for the three that were dead.
The places of birth she "never forgot";
Was it Kansas? or Utah? or Oregon ... or not?
They came from Scotland, of that she was clear;
But she wasn't quite sure just how long they'd been here.
They spoke of employment, of schooling and such;
They could read some and write some ... though really not much.
When the questions were answered, his job there was done;
So he mounted his horse and he rode toward the sun.
We can imagine his voice loud and clear; "May God Bless you all for another
ten years."
Now picture a time warp ... it's now you and me;
As we search for the people on our family tree.
We squint at the census and scroll down so slow;
As we search for that entry from long, long ago.
Could they only imagine on that long ago day;
That the entries they made would effect us this way?
If they knew, would they wonder at the yearning we feel; And the
searching that makes them so increasingly real.
We can hear if we listen the words they impart;
Through their blood in our veins and their voice in our heart.
