Thanks for your prompt reply. I can't tell if he's mine or not, but I have had no clue that he might have been in Alabama so it gives me a new line of inquiry. I have no certain death date or death place for him and he certainly could have died as late as 1897 because he had children born as late as 1874 and didn't marry until 1847--after the Mexican War. I can't tell you how long I've been looking for his ancestry. Many thanks again.

Edmond Christian A Soldier in the Mexican War Born in South Carolina Jan. 10(?), 1820 Died in Camp Hill June 20, 1897
The above is a copy and paste from the USGenWeb cemetery survey of Camp Hill Cemetery, Tallapoosa County, Alabama. I sincerely hope this is your Edmond and tears down a brick wall. I can not find my grandparents before 1910 when they first married and living in Birmingham, Al. I really know how frustrating it is to not be able to find answers. Would you let me know if this is yours?

I am hugely interested in your info on Edmond Christian. My ggfather was Joseph Edmund Christian, thought to have been born in Georgia in 1825, but could be SC and could be 1820. My ggfather didn't die until aft 1870, though, so death date of your Edmond is critical.

I think that was about an email from June or July. Last I corresponded with Agnes she had suffered a second stroke but was recovering and supportive of the project to get the CFC's out on CDROM. The project completed in Sept an several have purchased a copy of the 12 Vol CDROM. So I think. Last correspondence with her she was fine.

Do the chronicles include the Christian families in Berks County from the 1700-1900s?

Found this burial at Camp Hill Cemetery, Tallapoosa County, Alabama. Total notation reads, " Edmond Christian, A soldier in the Mexican War, Born in South Carolina Jan 10?, 1820. Died in Camp Hill, June 20 18__" Sorry but my printer cut off last numbers of death date. He is no relation to me, I was looking for HAND burials but this leaped out at me to post to this message board.

Kenneth, Ann and Brenda,
Thanks so much for your help! The information I had was given to me in a binder that someone had put together - a distant cousin, I think - and as I was working on building on the info I had, I started to see some discrepancies, then started to question where this person got her information. Was it from reliable sources? The Ronaldsway connection is there, as well as "the Irish branch," which included Gilbert. Again, thanks for responding!
Dianne
