Gilbert and Margaret Richardson) Christian are covered extensivesly in the Christian Family Chronicles - too many references to list. All information is well documented.
If you do not have access to the CFC's, you can contact me at kenrjonelr(a)aol.com, as they will soon be available on CDROM.

I'm not sure if you were sending this to me or not. But since I had replied to the other, I will reply.
I don't have any further info than the Journals, which I referenced in the previous reply. If you are unable to get them from your local library let me know, maybe I can help.

Does anyone know of any siblings of Gilbert Christian who married Margaret Richardson? I'm also trying to ascertain whether he was born in Scotland or Ireland. So far, all I've found is that he was "probably" born in Scotland. There is also a discrepancy in who his parents were. I've found Isabella Percy and John Christian OR Mary Nettles and Patricius Christian.
Thanks,
Dianne

I have her as the wife of Lewis Christian, Mary Cavin her maiden name. But I
must admit she is a bit of a puzzle to me. If I have her figuered out right
she is mother to my James Christian, Civil War soldier, and husband of Betty
Scism.
The History of Southeast Missouri, published in 1888 by the Goodspeed
Publishing Company of Chicago related the following: "James Christian, a successful
citizen of New Lisbon Township, was born in Hawkins County Tennessee, January
17,1838, and is the son of Lewis and Mary (Cavin) Christian, also natives of
Hawkins County. Lewis died when his son, James, was a small boy. His wife Mary,
died during the war, or in 1862. She was a member of the Baptist Church. To
their marriage were born seven children. James Christian was the sixth of the
family, etc.

Our hearts are with your family at your loss of two Christians and loved ones so close together. I married into a Christian clan, but there aren't too many left with that surname. My husband's mother was Clister Christian, from Tuscaloosa Co. AL, She died in 1970, Automobile Accident in Long beach CA. She came from a large family, mostly girls, so the name wasn't handed down well. I am having a hard time finding kin. Her parents were Edward and Martha Christian.

I just found out that S K Publishers will send you a copy of a census page if you can provide them with the census information (state, county, year, census page number, etc). Request it on 11 x 17 paper (it is easier to read) for your source documentation and is a great help for those of us researching at a distance.
