Thank you for your reply. I only have portions of the Christian Family Chronicles; I have copies of the sections that reference "Anthony & Sallie (Ewing) Christian and Some of Their Descendants". Thomas W. Christian was my Great Grandfather and we never met him. My living Uncle was the only male son of Thomas' daughter, Lulu Grace Christian. Thank you again for your help.

I looked in the Christian Family Chronicles and found the following:
1 reference to Linnie, who remarried after Elijah to a James Simons, page 221.
3 references to Nettie's but none seem to fit your date range.
Did not find the other surnames (Hall, etc.).

I'm not sure if you already have the Christian Family Chronicles among your papers. But it has extensive coverage of the Christian Family line from Georgia, and those who migrated out to California, Oregon and Washington.

Descendants of Anthony & Sallie (Ewing) Christian: My question pertains to a photo that appeared in the January 1982 volumn on page 587. Photos were from the collection of Mary Payne Gibbs and listed names of people in the photo. Does anyone know the date that the photo was taken? At the bottom of the photo are "other children..." but are these all children of Robert Ewing and Mary Jane (Holdeway) Christian? One of the children is listed as Lulu, but their daughters name was Lula...Is she one and the same? I am a descendant of Lulu Grace Christian, the daughter of Thomas W., who was the son of Preston Riley Christian. Any help with this would be appreciated.

Would it be very far-fetched to assume that anyone with the surname "Christian" is related, if even very distantly? I married into the family and recently received a binder of information from a long-lost cousin which says our family dates back to the Isle of Man, and No. Ireland (Gilbert Christian). Most of my (ex)-husband's relatives lived in Augusta Co., Virginia, Overton Co., Tennessee, McCurtain Co., Oklahoma, Kentucky and Illinois. Some eventually came out to California. I'm doing this research for my son, Brian Scott Christian. If there are any "cousins" out there, I'd love to hear from you.
Thanks,
Dianne

That's Bud's Pappy them Hatfields kilt! He was on the Union side in the CW and the Hatfields were CSA. They shot him dead when he
returned from the war. Bud died ca. 1890 and may have been killed by the Hatfields - just a guess since the battle was still going
on at that time.

In the long run, after an appeal to the Supreme Court, Kentucky won and thus got hands on some of the Hatfields and their friends.
Still the Hatfields were interested in wiping out the prosecuting witnesses, chiefly Randolph McCoy and his family.
Accordingly, a band of the Hatfields and their friends Planned to attack the McCoy home, burn it, and kill the folks.
JIM VANCE was to lead a raiding party made up of Tom Chambers, Johnse Hatfield, Cap Hatfield, Robert E. Lee "Bob" Hatfield, Ellison
"Cotton Top" Mounts, French Ellis, Charley Gillespie and Elliott Hatfield.
The latter was the son of Ellison Hatfield, knifed to death on election day, 1882, by three McCoy brothers later shot to death by
the Hatfield clan.
Men of the 1888 raiding party were sworn to show no mercy on their mission.
It is legendary over all the earth that Jim Vance swore hell would be his heaven if he did not kill the one who let him down in the
effort. He swore he would kill the one who weakened - kill him as sure as powder would burn, All knew the evil old wretch meant It,
too.
