Do you have approximate years? It will really help to cut down on all the
Herman's I am sure are out there with a common surname like Christian.
Wish I could help but I only have one "Matilida Christian" Married William
R. Mull in my tree right now.

Well you will get this faster if I use the correct address :-) Liesa
I know people have in the past wondered how to get grave markers for our war veterans (i.e. civil, rev, etc). It is good for ANY veteran, but they must be unmarked graves until like 2001 (Bushed changed the law). It requires very specific circumstances though if you don't know where the vet is buried (prove mass grave, or burned kind of thing).

Here is the line I am interested in:
Thomas Christian- Immigrant 1636
James Christian 1680
William Christian 1688-
+ Susan Browne
Turner Christian 1717-
+ Susan Walker
Robert Walker Christian 1745-
+ Elizabeth Irby
Robert Walker Christian 1839(New Kent)
+ Eliza Wilson
The other possibility is:
Turner Christian 1717-

I am trying to find if Robert Walker Christian (younger) is the son of
Robert Walker Christian(older) or William Browne Christian. I have

which was his father.

I'm aware of two Herman Christians in my family... one was born in California in 1882 and died in 1964, also in California. The second was born in 1915, though I don't have a location of his birth. This second one married Ruth McVey and they had two sons: Robert and John.

Hi Nancy,
My computer broke down and just got my addresses back. I tried the e-mail you sent me and it doesn't seem to work. Think you may have changed your address. Have you do any work on your Christian family? I was able to find the letter you sent to me on the family. Later this week I'll go and check on the census for you. Seems like there is a lot of people searching for information too. When I find what I'm looking for I'll post it on this site for everyone.
Please get back to me.
I have found more information on the Hayter family. I will send copies to you and Larry. Please send me your address so I'll know where to send the information. Take care.

I was just posting a query about something else and ran across your note by accident. I have the names eugene (gene)and Val in my family tree. Do you see a link to Calif. or Texas in this line?? I show Eugene as a son of William Edgar (aka Big Red) and gene as little red. I seem to remember a lot of kids but only the name Rose rings a bell. Any thing sound familiar to you???

Received records from NARA today. Robert Walker Christian served for the Confederate Army. Co.F Hampton Legion, South Carolina. Enlisted in 1861 in Richmond VA. Born in New Kent VA. Occupation Editor/Printer
I am looking for the ancestors of Rev. William Wycke (or possibly Wyche)
Christian who was born 4-3-1803 in Mecklenburg County, Virginia, died
11-15-1848 in Carlowville, Dallas Co. Alabama. His wife was Rhoda Goodwin
Reese (no dates)---who was probably born in VA also---daughter of Littleton
Reese (1767-1823) and Elizabeth Hall (died 1813).
It appears that William Wycke Christian's father was George Christian (died
June 14, 1831, Wilcox County, Alabama), and that his mother was Frances Wycke
(no dates available).
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone have sources for:
1.Marriage of Thomas-1 to ____Corbin?
2.Robert-2 wife's name "Mary Lucy Bradley"?
Noticed Chuck Olson listed them as such........Would love to hear from
you on this.
Melba
Thanks Chuck, for replying to my plea for information You mentioned that
your source cited a will for Robert Christian and that that is where the
children's names came from. Do you suppose you could get your source to give
us a copy of that will/ That would help our proof tremendously.
This is the information I have been given on Robert Christian and Lucy
Bradley. I have no dates for Robert, but for Lucy, born before 1715, Amherst
Co., Va. Father William Bradley, Sr.
Children:
John C. Christian, b. abt. 1748 in Alemarle County, Va., M. Mary Bryant. He
d. abt. 1805 in Franklin Co., Ga.
Robert Christian, b. before 1748, d. abt. 1791, m. Mary Bradley
Drury Christian, common law Elizabeth Hunt, who first m. William Upshaw.
Had a second mariage to Frances (?)
Lucy Christian, b. abt. 1745 in Amhert County, Va., d. Elbert Co., Ga., m.
Thomas Rigeway
Elizabeth Christian
So now, if we are talking about the same Robert and Lucy Bradley Christian,
you have given me several other names to add. Did your source give you any
dates for these other children?
Do you get as confused and frustrated as I do over all this?
Rubye
