I figured this is the best way to reach all the other descendants of
Lucy Jane CHRISTIAN, b. 1819 in Elbert Co. GA to William and Sarah
CHRISTIAN. She was the wife of Nathaniel SHELNUT of Carroll Co. GA (and
other places).
A couple of years ago I had found Lucy's obituary, which listed the
names of her parents and that she was born in Elbert Co. GA. I "met"
several other CHRISTIAN researchers who told me that her parents were
William Payne CHRISTIAN and Sarah MAXWELL. The evidence was pretty
convincing, but not conclusive. I always tried to qualify my research
when I shared it with others, but sometimes it didn't always come across
as a "maybe".
Well, now it turns out that there was another William and Sarah
CHRISTIAN in Elbert Co. GA. They were William B. CHRISTIAN (whose
lineage is suspected, but not known conclusively) and Sarah H[odgkin?]
POSEY. These are the parents of Lucy Jane and her twin sister Eliza
Frances. The POSEY line has been researched rather well and goes back to
Charles Co. MD and to France.
So, I am sorry to lose the MAXWELL line but now there is a whole new
world of possibilities for me and my "cousins" out there!! So, let's get
our heads together and figure out William B. CHRISTIAN's lineage!!
If anyone has any questions about this, please feel free to contact me.
