Hi. I'm seeking information on Eliza Jane Christian, who married Hartwell
Hamby Palmer. They had 6 children: Henry Lilly, John Lewis, Walter McQueen,
Hugh Alston, Charlie Christian, and Eliza Lilly.
The only other information I have about Eliza Jane is that she may have been
related to a Martha F. Christian, whose name is on a family heirloom.
(Sister? sister-in-law?).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Anne Palmer
Does anyone have an E-mail address for Greg Neff? He was at gwn(a)gdi.net
He changed his address and I do not have it.

MARY EMMA MOORE and E. MOORE were sisters. born in Alabama about
1848-1850. Mary Emma MOORE married and became Mary Emma AVERITT and
in 1875 she married WILLIAM D. CHRISTIAN, an Episcopal minister, in
Lauderdale County, MS. They had a son WILLIAM GARLAND CHRISTIAN and twin
daughters SUSAN WEEKS CHRISTIAN and FANNIE ELOISE CHRISTIAN.
I would like to find Mary Emma MOORE's parents and other siblings.
Clues: The name FANNIE or FRANCES was used by two of the sisters as a
name
of a child, perhaps their Mother's name.
Mary Emma's son was named William ( for his father) and
GARLAND, perhaps for her father, maybe GARLAND MOORE ?????
Can anyone help me find my family with these clues????
Thanks, Alice Bruce Bruce1013(a)aol.com

Doris,
I may have a match for your Lovisa Christian. In 1850, Tazewell Co., VA,
there was a John Christian, 46 yr old farmer (family #1177). He was married
to a Catherine Altizer, 45 yrs old. Listed in the household is Lidda, 10
yrs, Louisa, 7 yrs, and Rebecca, 2 yrs.
"Lidda" is my gg grandmother, Lydia Christian, who married William Pruitt.
In 1860, John Christian and Catherine are living in Buchanan Co., VA, 2 doors
away from Lydia (their daughter) and William. Next door to John and
Catherine is Lydia's father-in-law, Ruben Pruitt, with a younger son and his
wife. The 2 families appear to have moved together to Buchanan County. John
Christian is 54, Catherine 48 (she doesn't seem to age much), "Lavica" is 14,
Rebecca is 12, and Lurany is 9.
Russell Co., VA currently borders both Buchanan and Tazewell Counties. My
Lydia ended up living in Greenup Co., KY. I haven't tracked her yet in the
1870 and 1880 censuses, but rumor has it they were in Way Co., WV and
Lawrence Co., KY. By 1900, they were in Greenup. By the way, Morgan County
is very close to Lawrence County. It is also markedly close to Greenup and
Boyd Counties, KY. I think it is highly possible that your Lovisa and my
Lydia are sisters.
I am currently working on the Christian line, and think I have some info on
John's and Catherine Altizer's lineage as well, if you are interested.
Hope to hear from you.

grandparents.
2) Louisa or Lavica- b.abt 1840-46
3) Rebecca, b. abt 1848
4) Luvany or Lurancy, b. abt 1851
Would appreciate any info on John's parentage.
Thanks,
