Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

4/13/2008 - Dr. John M. "Jack" Christenson, 90, of Fredonia, NY died Thursday (April 10, 2008) at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk.
He was born July 12, 1917 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late John C. and Mary (Muir) Christenson.
Dr. Christenson attended Niagara University and earned his DDS from the University of Buffalo.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. His career as a dentist spanned more than 46 years. He had worked at Children's Hospital and in private practice. In later years, he moved his practice from downtown Buffalo to the Forestville area.
He was a member of several organizations including the DKU, the Masonic Fraternity, the ADA, the New York State 8th District Dental Association and the First United Church of Silver Creek, where he was the sexton for a number of years.
Known to be quite the prankster, he was a photo enthusiast and made the transition form regular photos to digital imaging at 80 years old. He also loved to play his piano.
Survivors include three sons, Eric (Barbara) Christenson, John (Karen) Christenson,
and David (Michele) Christenson;
five granddaughters, Sara Sams, Laura Thumm, Gretchen Macfee, Debra Forster
and Kaitlin Christenson;
and seven great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Ruth (Swachamer) Christenson; one sister, Jean Morrow;
and one granddaughter Megan Christenson.
Memorial services will be held today at 3:00 p.m. from the First United Church of Silver Creek. There will be no prior visitation. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Columban's on the Lake. Arrangements are by the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel, Silver Creek.
