Hello. I just seen your message on A book on Christenson families in Michigan. I would greatly appreciate it, if you could please send me a copy. I have had so much trouble trying to locate information on my Christenson side of my family. My Great Great Grandfather came from denmark and we have had trouble locating that side of the family. My Grandfather never spoke of his danish hertiage. I don't know why. I don't know some information that I need for my genealogy files. My Christenson family came from Grayling, Michigan. I just can't seem to find out very much information. Maybe you can help me with that. I would sure appreciate any help at all.
Thank-You
Wendy Burgess

One long shot deserved another. I'd never heard of 'Nesbryggen' Norway and couldn't find any listing to match that location in the usual online Norwegian databases for censuses, etc. But for my long shot, I grabbed an old Norwegian triple A type of roadmap book that I was given years ago (not called triple A in Norway - but a similar type of organization)
Nesbryggen is in the Vestfold province of Norway - south of Oslo and right on the west side of the Oslofjorden. I THINK it might be included in the district known as Nøtterøy in Vestfold. (Not an area of Norway that I have much knowledge of.) It is spelled as Nesbrygga in this much older online map I found for you -

Was your Ole still in Norway at the time of the 1865 Norwegian census? I quickly checked a database for that census and found at least 4 possible matches. Most frequently the spelling of that surname in Norway was of course, Kristensen.
If you can find some record of when YOUR Ole left Norway - you might be able to find more information in the online Norwegian databases.

Well.... it's a long shot but here goes...
I know/assume that Ole was born in Nesbryggen, Norway in 1850.
I know/assume that he married a woman named Gunhild Maria ?? from Vollen Norway.
His daughter was Olga Christina.
I think he had a son named Ole too as I heard talk of an Uncle Ole from my Grandma Gudrun Krogh...
