My lineage is also from Venge or Veng Scanderborg--- Soren, Else Marie, Maren,Kirsten Marie, Peder, Ane,& Ole Christensen. All born between 1836-1856 and may have been cousins to your Christensens. Their parents were Christen Sorensen -Born 8 Nov 1804 in Vissing, Skanderborg & mother was Ane Marie Olesdatter , born 1814/1815 in Venge, Skanderborg.
Rasmus Sorensen Christensen lived in Chicago, Illinois & was a nephew to my Grandfather, Soren Rasmussen, born Storring Aarhus DK. He immigrated to New York in 1888.
Any chance of this family being related to yours?

Hello J. Murphy,
Thank you so much for that information. If you would not mind I would love to have the documents you have saved for this family. They were my great-great-grandparents and my grandfathers mother Cena Christensen died when he was 15 so we have very little information about her family. Thanks again for the information.

I can't help you much with descendants, but going back....
Christen Christensen and Kirsten Marie Sorensen arrived NY in Nov 1884 on the Bohemia (departed Nov 19, 1884) along with their children Christina, Wilhelm, Christian and Marie. ( The Hamburg passenger list has their last residence as Hormested.)
Christen Christensen(born Aug 6 1851, son of Christen Christensen) and Kirsten Marie Sorensen (born Sept 3 1848 dau. of Soren Jensen) were married on Sept 29 1871 in Hormested parish, Hjorring Amt.
Christen was born in Hormested parish to parents Christen Christensen and Maren Olesdatter.
Kirsten Marie was born in Sindal parish to parents Soren Jensen and Else Cathrine Sorensdatter.
Hope this helps,
J Murphy
(I did save copies of a few of their census and parish records. Let me know if you'd like me to forward them.)
