Jean's daughter:
I would be glad and grateful to receive what information that you have. I do have a picture of George N. and Margrette E. Seifert's grave stone. I found that on Findagrave.com. Also found a picture of your great-grandfather, Frank, sitting in a Buick with his family, and Frank and Henrietta from Findagrave.com. The Lodge's with "Seifert" in their names pronounce "Seifert" with a long "E" instead of a long "I". The Kingman Carnegie Library sent me some information on George N. Seifert. I can scan those doucments and send them to you, as well as other information on Lydia Seifert Lodge. Your great-grandfather was the baby of the family. George Jr. was the oldest and Lydia was in the middle.
Our daughter, Carrie lives in Overland Park, KS. We were just there visiting. Our first grand child was born on March 7. The next time we will be in OP is Memorial Day weekend.
If you would like to see the Lodge Family tree, just send me your e-mail address and I will send you an invitation to view the tree. Were you ever aware that you had ancestors in NJ? Again, my e-mail address is tmlodge(a)hotmail.com. My phone number is 937-837-8419. We currently live in Trotwood. OH. At one time we lived in Chanute and Shawnee, KS and at that time heard a story that George N. Seifert had moved to Kansas, but could not collaborate that story at that time.
I also have a cousin in law, Danine Lodge, from Salem County, NJ working on the family genealogy. She married my 1st cousin's son.
Terry

I am Jean's daughter. I have one brother. I'm not sure I can help you a lot, but I do have some birth and death certificates, dating back to Frank's generation(my great grandfather) Most of the family is buried in Lebanon Cemetary, Kingman County, Kansas, or in Hutchinson Kansas. please contact me and I'll see what I can do-all my cousins still live in Wichita and they may be a better source> always fun to hear from long lost and never known about relatives!

My great grandmother Christensa Amelia Christensen (1851-1913) married Frederick Wilhelm Blohm (1852-1918) and emigrated to American Fork, UT in 1874. I do have a good bit of info on their Blohm family, but only recently learned that apparently Christensa's parents and siblings also emigrated from Denmark soon thereafter. Would welcome contact from any descendants--I'm particularly interested in getting a glimpse of any old photos that might exist of this numerous clan. Her siblings first names include Elisa Otthilde, Jens Peter, Christine Martina, Christian Vilhelm, Marie Magdaline; Parents were Niels Christiansen and Johanne Catherine.
Thanks!
Jeff

Thanks for the link. Yesterday when I was doing research I didn't have time to continue my search but was glad to fill in that piece of the puzzle.
Thanks for the link for the Danish Emigration records. I'll let you know if I have any troubles.

Look for Laurits Christensen in Minneapolis in 1900
and Harlan Christianson in 1910 and you should find them. If not let me know and I can forward them through Ancestry (I think..) As for the Danish Emigration records, census and parish records, take a look at http://www.sa.dk/
(There is a tab for English at the top of the page next to the 'search') It's a great site with lots of good links. You should be able to search the emigration database and the transcribed census. There is also a link if you'd like to browse the handwritten parish registers for birth, marriage or death records. That one does require that you register, but it's free. You'll find the birth and marriage records for the Lund's in Kvaerkeby Sogn, Soro Amt.
(It's a lot more fun to search for them yourself, but I did save copies of Ane Sophie's birth record and her parents marriage record if for any reason you can't find them)
Have fun,
J Murphy

I had a similar break through earlier today. I, too, found them in the 1920 Census which listed the m-i-l and parents as from Denmark with a year of emigration.
I did not find the 1900 Census records or the Danish emigration database. If you can provide the source or point me I would be most appreciative!

On the 1920 Census for Minneapolis there is a family consisting of
Lauritz Christensen 58,
Anna S. 51,
Alice 23,
Myrtle 18,
Harlan 10
and m-i-l Carrie Lund 71.
On the 1900 census the family consists of
Lauritz 39,
Anna 31,
Alice 3
and s-i-l Mary Lund 29.
I found Anna's family on the Danish emigration database registering to emigrate in April 1873. They were:
Karen Sophie 28,
Vilhelm 38,
Ane Sophie 3,
Sidse Marie Lund 9 mos.
Their last residence was listed as Gyrstinge (pr Ringsted) in Soro Amt. I did find some other info in the parish records, so if this sounds like it might be the right family let me know and I'll be happy to forward it to you.
J Murphy

I am so sorry it has taken me years to respond to this thread. Yes, I believe we are related. I have the following names for the Christensen children: LaVern,Sidney,Arnold, Elsie, Pearl (my grandmother) Mary, Sofie (Sophia) Edna, Minnie and Violet. I think there may have been more. But, I do have bunches of family photos. I have photos of Hans and Anna. Of Edna and her husband Omar, my grandmother, lots of childhood pictures. A group picture of all the girls. Pictures of whom ever was living in California in the early 70's. When my mother died I came across a bunch of stuff. I even have pictures of people who I met when I was little and can't remember. If you'd like to have copies let me know. My email addy is kellie_beaty(a)live.com.

I'm trying to find information on my grandfather, Harlan Leslie Christensen, who was born in 1909. I THINK he was born in Minneapolis, MN but I cannot locate anything from the state on his birth or marriage to my grandmother. His parents came from Denmark and I'm trying to find their names so I can continue my research. He had two sisters: Alice and Myrtle.

I really don't have enough information to make a true connection with any family in Aarus. I only have my great grandparents names Christian Louis Christensen, wife Mary Magdalena Swensen and their eight children Sina, Petra, Johanna, Josie, Mary, Emma, Louis, and Elvina. THe children were all born in Aarus between 1850 and 1870 the year they emigrated to Duluth, Minnesota. My grandfather Louis died in 1943.
It is always hopefull to hear from anyone that might be able to make a family connection. Thanks very much

Hi - not sure if you're still monitoring this post from 10 years ago, but, worth a shot! I too have relatives in Aarhus. My family name is Christensen, my paternal grandfather, Vagn Lendahl was born there in 1907. He emigrated to America in/about 1925. His mother's name was Agnes, and I BELIEVE his father's name was Christen but I'm not sure. I know he had sisters but I don't know what their names were, or if they're still alive and living in Aarhus or elsewhere in Denmark. Also, I believe my grandfather had an uncle last name Andersen living in Illinois. If any of this rings a bell, I would love to connect with fellow Christensens! Thanks very much in advance,
Deborah

I have some information, Christian was from Tonder, Denmark, and Caroline from Schleswig Holstein, Germany. I have some dates, which I will try to dig up. I am their great, great grandson via their son Milandt (Milo), his son Howard Christensen, his daughter (my mom) Deborah Christensen. Feel free to e-mail me at donnelbr(a)gmail.com. Also, I am interested in getting more info on them. I wasn't able to contact Carolyn Nelson who had a "75th Anniversary book" from Buffalo. - Brian
