Hello List
I am new to the list in the hope someone will be able to assist.
I am seeking information on a sensitive World War Two relationship that
involved an English woman and an American Army Air Serviceman who was posted
to England. They were not married and the resultant child of the
relationship is now seeking information about her father. She is a
grandmother now and is keen to help her grandchildren with their heritage.
My Name is Chris and I am helping Sue to seek further information with a
view to finding her heritage only. She is not seeking any compensation,
rather to know her roots. Sue lives in South Australia now.
His name is Clifford Leroy CHRISTENSEN, he was born about 1918 and according
to family stories his parents were originally from somewhere in Scandinavia.
Sue has been told that he was from a 'funny religion' although in that time
that could mean anything.
I have searched the WW2 records to no avail but have found this entry on the
1920 US Census which could be the person we are seeking information about.
Clifford Leroy CHRISTENSON
Salt Lake City Ward 2, Salt Lake Utah
Aged 2 years
Born about 1918 in Utah
Son of Ray and Mabel also of Utah
The slight change in the spelling of the surname is understandable and may
have a bearing on how we find more about this person
This may not be the person we are seeking, there may be other Clifford Leroy
CHRISTENSEN's who may be the one we are seeking but we feel we have to start
somewhere. Can anybody help with this or at least guide us into other areas
to research.
Regards
Chris in South Australia.
