I've run across the name when I was searching for my own ancestors, either checking the Danish emigration records or browsing thru the parish registers. If you haven't found them yet danishgenealogy.homestead.com/danishgenealogy.html and www.arkivalieronline.dk are both useful sites for tracing Danish ancestors. I find myself bouncing between those two and Ancestry often. The Danish genealogy site has links to a Danish census database, emigration records and other useful stuff. (I find I use the map of the counties located on the census site often - parish boundaries have changed over the years, so if I haven't found what I'm looking for where I thought it should be, I always check the surrounding areas.) The Arkivalieronline site has photocopies of the actual parish records and census. All, of course, handwritten and in Danish. (you'll have to register and be given a password, but it's free. Look on the left side of the page for directions in English)Good luck.

I have also come acrossed many differernt spelling for my G Grandfather. I am going by the spelling on his death record.and town. Jesing But it could be Gjesing. His father would have been Jacob S Christensen Mother I am not sure if it was Marie Botilde? it was what was told to me.
Can you tell me what Danish records you have found.?

I don't know if this will help, but I've run across the first name 'Ditlev' in the Danish records, sometimes spelled Dethlef. (where is 'Jesing'? I've seen records for a 'Gjesing' in Randers...)
