I suggest the best place to ask about Danish Christensens is the
Denmark list. Lots of active folks there, including several in
Denmark. See http://pages.prodigy.net/eaglesphan/denmarklist/
My Christensens were/are Nebraskans.
Russell,
My grandfather was Marineus Christensen, birth Oct. 20, 1871 in Denmark,
Juteland area. My gr grandfather was Jens Christensen b. Nov. 18, 1840
Aalborg, Denmark his wife Mary Hannah Nelson birth Sept. 18, 1843. Jens and
Mary Hannah Christensen were the parents of Peter, Marineus, Christian,
Emma & Walter. Walter was the only one born in America. They settled in the
Glenwood-Starbuck area of MN.
Jens 3rd wife was Lena Anderson, a Swedish lady. When my grandfather,
Marineus had his family of 12 children, they changed their name from
Christensen to Heegard after my mother was born, as she was the 5th child.
I haven't traced my family any further back then this. Your last name
interest me as I had a uncle by marriage name John Karpf whose wife was my
Aunt.
