Hello list members,
I just enrolled and would like to start off with a question:
In search for my ancestors, I am looking for members of the CHRISTALLE-family (in former times sometimes spelled CHRISTALLÉ, CHRISTALL, KRISTALLE, KRYSTALL or even GRISTELLA). They used to live in the Breslau area (Schlesien, today Poland) as well as in Germany, Lower Saxony (Hannover, Hildesheim, Hameln...).
I already found some CHRISTALLE in Schlesien but I am still missing more information before 1800 to link them all together.
Originally the CHRISTALLE are told to derive from the French Hugenots, who emigrated in the 16th century from France.
Has anyone come across other CHRISTALLE, CHRISTALL or does anyone know more about the above mentioned spellings ?
Any hint is highly appreciated, since I only have been able to find some traces in Germany, France and Poland.
Best regards,
Marco H. Christalle
