Dear Patrick Lyons
The roman catholic parish is St. Peter in D-64646 Heppenheim.
The local historical society (Heppenheimer Geschichtsverein) edited the third "Sippenbuch Heppenheim a.d.B." with all families from 1741 to 1809. So it's not necessary to use the original register.
Please look at:
http://www.bergstrasse.de/geschichtsverein-hp/
link: Sippenbücher
there at third row (Vol III): - Namensregister (pdf)
Kaspar Weismantel and his family are mentioned in volume III - but different data. Please contact me direct (link at the mentioned website).

Sehr geerter Herr Bräuer,
I will be searching for my ancestor's baptismal record in Heppenheim (an der Bergstraße) soon. Kaspar Weismandel was born in Heppenheim circa 1745 and died in 1800 in Bûrstadt. Since the family was Catholic would you know which church in Heppenheim to consult?
Many thanks,
Patrick Lyons, Rancho Cucamonga, California
