Murder, and Suicide Shocks the County
George Allison Shoots Wife and Then Kills Himself
Used High Power Rifle
Shooting Took Place Sometime Tuesday Morning, but Bodies Were Not Discovered Until Children Home from School --- Suffered Ill Health?
Mrs. George Allison was shot and killed by her husband at their home north east of Minneapolis some time Tuesday morning. Allison then shot himself through the heart.
The shooting, as officers reconstructed the scene, started in the yard of their home. Allison, using a 25-20 rifle first shot his wife through the shoulder, the bullet ranging down into her body. She evidently started to run into the house, for she was shot again in the back, the bullet reaching her heart.
It is thought that Allison then took her inside. He then laid down on the floor, and shot himself through the heart, the bullet going through his body, and on thru the floor.
No one witnessed the shooting, but neighbors living nearby recalled hearing a shot or two, then a scream about 10:30 that morning. The bodies were not discovered until the return home from school of Mrs. Allison's son. A two-year old grandson of Mrs. Allison was present, but was found locked in the kitchen.
The couple had been married about a year.
No known motive has been found for the act. Neighbors stated, however, Mr. Allison seemed to be constantly worried about finances, and it is thought this worry temporarily deranged his mind.
The bodies were brought to the L.B. Smith Funeral Home. The funeral services will be held from the Methodist church here this afternoon with Rev. Jones in charge. Mrs. Allison leaves the following children through former marriages: Mrs. M. Garst, Ira Jagger, Ollie Jagger, Merl Jagger, Clio Jagger, Harold Jagger and Nathan Frakes. Mr.Allison
had seven brothers. The obituary will be published next week.

Hattie Lucinda Christ Allison
Hattie Lucinda Christ was born near Lamar, Kansas, where she spent the early years of her life, January 3, 1882, and died October 13, 1931. On October 26, 1902, she was united in marriage to George Jagger, who preceded her in death December 11, 1918, leaving her to care for a family of small children.
All the struggles necessary in rearing the family she met with courage and energy and succeeded in the undertaking. A notably fine mother to small children, she bore nine; seven of whom survive. The children are La Verne, who died in infancy; Mrs. Eva Garst; Thelma, who died in infancy; Ira, Ollie, Meryle, Cleo, Harold and Nathan, all of whom reside in the home community. She also had seven grandchildren.
On December 1, 1930, she was again united in marriage to George Allison.
Mrs. Allison was the daughter of Levi and Mary Christ. Her father was one of the old time Methodist preachers much beloved and respected in his home community and over the conference.
Of the near relatives surviving are two brothers and three sisters, Mrs. Sarah Guhl of Nakoma, kansas, Mrs. Mary Fyfe of Fredonia, Grant Christ of Lamar, Mrs. Sylvia Schlotz of Marion and Glen of Salina.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist Episcopal church in Minneapolis at 3:30 o'clock Thursday, Oct. 15, conducted by the Rev. C. Cray Jones, assisted by Rev. L.S. Cooper. Burial was made in Highland cemetery.
