Am looking for any information concerning Emil Christ, my
great-grandfather. He emigrated at the age of 19 from Gotha, Germany
to the US. He was on the ship Borussia out of Hamburg and Southampton
and arrived in New York November 1, 1858. He lists his occupation as
jeweler.

Hi!
My Grandmother was Louise Christ (Married name-Romano). Her sisters were Evelyn and Katherine, her rothers were Edward (Dewy) and Louie (Louis). They were born and raised in New York. Her Stepfather was Nicholas Lauria, birth father was Heinrich (Henry) Christ. Heinrich left when the children were small, and their mother remarried N. Lauria. I do not know their mother's name, only that her maiden name was Oakley and she originally came from England (Pickadilly Lane in East London and something about a church with three bells). H. Christ's parents came from Germany (I think) in the mid 1800's, Christian and Anna Katherina (or Katherina Anna).
If there's anyone out there with any info or missing pieces, I'd really appreciate the help! Thanks!
