There are more than 3 Eschenbachs in Germany, particularly if you consider various modifiers. One thing to be aware of is the name changes that have happened with time. My father was born and raised in Wolframs-Eschenbach, Bavaria. Prior to 1917, it was known as Obereschenbach. However, my father told me that locally it was often simply referred to as Eschenbach in his childhood (1930s and 40s). In researching our family, local records for some of my ancestors from the 1800s sometimes simply refer to Eschenbach, rather than Obereschenbach, consistent with my father's statement. So, depending on the time, there may be other towns referred to as "Eschenbach", besides the ones called that today.
