Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Fellow Chane List Members,
Very shortly, all mail sent to the Chrane-L mailing list will be archived.
The
archives will be open to all, both list subscribers and non-list
subscribers. You will be able to search for surnames, locations, etc.
Presently there is a sample of the archives at the following URL. You
are free to go to the site & experience first hand the format with which
our lists will be archived.
Here is the URL to use for the Chrane-L list when it is archived:
Also, other Rootsweb genealogy mailing lists will be archived.
All archives will be available for you to read.
Among the many advantages to archiving are:
1. If you have to unsubscribe for a period of time, you can view messages
that you missed by going to the archives.
2. A new subscriber can view messages that were posted previous to their
subscribing to the list.
3. If you accidently delete a message you can go to the archives and
retrieve and/or view the message.
4. You can preview a list before subscribing.

Am I right when I think that my ancestors
came from Denmark? I could not find "Chrane"
on the Danish-American Genealogical Group.
Theodore Frederick Chrane was supposedly born
in Copenhagen April 1821, came to the USA as
a youngster, married Helene Bentherne - date
unknown.
I am new at this so maybe I should know
better. Help me to know better. <G>

I have tried to contact Donna Chrane at her email address DChrane(a)aol.com a
few times but each time the message bounces back. Does anyone have a more
current address for her?
