Looking for information on Betsy Choate and her father
Edward Chaote. They were my husband's g.g.g grandmother
and g.g.g.g. grandfather. They lived in Virginia and Tennessee
in the 1700s and early 1800s.
Any information would be very helpful and appreciated.

Thanks Barbara,
I saw this but it is the wrong Ben Choate family. Although I do find it interesting that Dwight named one of his sons Green (perhaps for Greenberry Choate).

I am trying to find Ben(jamin) Choat/Choate who married Zora Phillips possibly in Indian Territory about 1890.
On the 1900 census in the Choctaw Nation, Indian Territory (now Pittsburg County, Oklahoma), Ben is listed with his family Zora and sons Lester, George W., James A., and William L. with the surname of Shoat.
Ben stated that he was born in May 1860 in Arkansas with father b. Georgia and mother b. Tennessee. His occupation is listed as Engineer (possibly for the new railroad).
Ben died before the 1910 census after having two more sons, Ben Jr. and Tom. Ben Sr., Zora/Zorah Choat and Ben Jr. Choate are all buried in the Bower Cemetery in Pittsburg County, Oklahoma. Zorah's mother, Sarah Phillips, is also buried in the Bower Cemetery.
On the 1910 and 1920 census records, Ben's sons are noted as being born in Oklahoma but Ben is said to have been in Canada and their mother Zorah being born in Missouri.
Zorah was the d/o of Lewis Phillips and Sarah Trusley. They were married about 1870 in Miller County, Missouri.
Also, if anyone has access to the 1890 Choctaw census records, would you please let me know what is stated about Ben(jamin) Choat/Choate/Shoat/Shote.
Thanks for your time,
