I have developed a MySpace account where all of us can share our Choate Family Photos. Many of you have sent photos to me in the past, these are on the site now. Should you decide you would like to take part in this photo sharing please e-mail any Choate related photo to me at Choatephotos(a)cableone.net . Please be sure to label the photos (either on the photo or in the body of the e mail) with as much information as you can such as names , dates, locations, events. I will attach your contact information to your photos if you request so. To gain access to this MySpace enter Choate1910 in the Find your friends on MySpace box and send me a friend request. My grandparents were Lon and Grace, I have labeled my photos with information from my childhood memory, should anyone be able to prove names or dates to be different please let me know. HOPE TO HEAR FROM YOU SOON, JUDY
I am looking for a William Choate probably born in TN, then moved to KY.
He married Emeline Mize born in NC.
He probably died in KY but not sure. This would have been in the 1800s. He had a daughter in 1865, maybe more children but I don't know.

Deborah,
Stories are all I have. However, I had a cousin, who has since passed away,
that told me my gggrandfather had a brother that was called Stiff Arm, don't
know what he real name was. Don't know if he had it injured or what the
situation was. And there was also another brother named Bill/probably William and
he lived to be 104. I have no proof of any of this, but found it interesting
that you are looking for a one armed man in the Choate family. My
gggrandfather was John Choate or Shoat. Are you Choates from TN, possibly Sumner,
Robertson, Dixon, Jackson, Monroe, Davidson or maybe Clay or White Counties. Mine
are mostly in Sumner and Robertson counties. But it appears that my
GGGrandparents were married in Monroe County and in 1880 they were in Jackson County.
It is believed that the father of John Choate, don't have a name, was on the
trail of tears and broke away in Nashville and later married. H=We don't know
whom to though.
John was refereed to as Watachee. I may not be spelling that correctly, but
that is how it sounds. I do have info on John and wife Martha (Martin) Choate
to the present. Looking forwadr to hearing from you. Good luck.

Does anyone know of a Harold Choate that had one arm? Don't' know if he
literally did not have one or if he was injured in a war or something?
