This page has a list of military links for different states, mainly
Civil War. Some are from Ancestry.com, but the description tells you it
is a pay site and from Ancestry.

US GenWeb has always had some excellent records. You just have to
search each state. Some are really good and some are so-so.

Fort Gibson National Cemetery
Fort Gibson, Muskogee County, Oklahoma
Oklahoma County, Oklahoma (includes Oklahoma City) has new records on line
http://www.oklahomacounty.org/assessor/disclaim.htm
This page lets you access all public land records for Oklahoma, but they
seem to be recent - from 1989 onwards
http://okcountyrecords.com/
The Oklahoma Department of Libraries has a page that lets you search
their online website
http://www.odl.state.ok.us/sitenotes/asrch3.htm
There is also a "Sooner Search" "you can locate information from the
websites of nearly 200 Oklahoma state government agencies, programs and
portals."
And then there's a "Digitial Prairie - the "One Stop Shop" for Oklahoma's
Online Library Resources" that lets you search and find all the holdings
of the Oklahoma Library System, and more.

The Federal Government has Federal Land Records online
http://www.glorecords.blm.gov/
This site does not cover the thirteen colonies, their territories, and a
few other states.
Go there and click on search land patents - the next page put in your
zip code (go ahead, it won't hurt you) and then you'll get a page and
put in a last name and see what happens. Or a last name and state, etc.
