Hello Choate list,
If anyone comes happens to find a marriage license for:
Herman Choate to Mary Jones, please let me know what state and county
that you found it. I believe they would have married in the 1920s.
Herman and Mary are my grandparents and I have been unable to locate a
marriage license for them.
I found a marriage license for a Herman Choate to Irene Byrd in
Christian Co., Ky. but this is not my Herman Choate.
I am also looking for a marriage license for:
John W. Choate to Edna Gibbs or Edna Sandford.
They were my great grandparents. It is unclear if my great grandmother
was a Sanford or a Gibbs. They married around 1886.
Thank you,
Roxie Choate Pryor

Hello,
I am also looking for information about Christopher Choat. The ancestor I am
actually trying to pinpoint is Sally Choat, who married Elias Fisher on 25
December 1848 in Harrison County, Texas. According to other researchers, she
is not found to be an immediate member of the families of the Choats in
Harrison County, but could have possibly been the Sally Choat who was
daughter to Christopher Choat and this making her the youngest sister to
Seaborn (or Seibert) Choat, who was a resident of Harrison County at the time
of her marriage. I believe these Choats came to Texas from Fentress (?)
County Tennessee. Could we possibly be speaking of the same Christopher
Choat? Any information is truly appreciated.
