As far as I have ever heard, the only place is through Gary and Brenda CHITWOOD. See an earlier message for the information.

Thank you so much for responding to my question. The information you provided is great. The messages I saw on the message board about buying a copy of the book were from 1999 and 2000...do you know where I may purchase a copy now?
Thank you again!

*Your* Nimrod CHITWOOD is listed in the "Descendants of Matthias CHITWOOD" book.
It shows "Glen" as "Glen C CHITWOOD*, b 1900 (probably firstborn, as it shows Nimrod marrying Elizabeth "Lizzie" COLEMAN on Dec 25, 1899.). It lists a total of 10 children for Nimrod and Lizzie.
It also indicates that Nimrod was the eleventh child of Morgan Beatty and Elizabeth LEWIS CHITWOOD, and that he was born in MO 1878 and d Sep 28, 1932. It takes both Morgan Beatty and Elizabeth back several generations and includes valuable documentation.
In my opinion, this would be a valuable addition to your genealogy library, as it includes not only that information but things like generations of brothers and sisters ("collaterals", which can give good clues for finding yet other family members) and the information that a forebear, William CHITWOOD, migrated from TN to MO in 1841 "to farm on Webbs Creek, Reynolds Co, MO". My advice? Get a copy.

I am new to the genealogy world, so I don't know if this book would be helpful to me or not. So far only one online post mentions anyone in my Chitwood family tree (my tree is very small at this time). I am mainly interested in connecting with living relatives of Charles "Glen" Chitwood, b. 8 May 1900 in Ellington, Reynolds, Missouri and d. Apr 1975. His father was Nimrod Chitwood b. Aug 1878 and d. 28 Sep 1932. His mother was Elizabeth Coleman.
By the way, Glen Chitwood moved to Washington State in early 1930.
Any help with this Chitwood line would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

For all you descendants of Lazarus and Mary LEIPER CHITWOOD, I found
this today on familysearch.org :
https://www.familysearch.org/search/image/show#uri=https%3A%2F%2Fapi.fami...
You also can find it by going to
https://www.familysearch.org/
On the search page, go down and click on
*All Record Collections
*
Scroll down to
*Tennessee County Marriages, 1790 - 1950*
Key in
Lazarus Chitwood
[NOTE: It is mistranscribed as "Lazr Chitwood" and "Mary Seiper" (from
back when a capital "L" often is mistranscribed as an "S")]
It will bring up an image of the actual marriage bond.
Once you have printed it out, go back and key in just Chitwood and see
who else you can find.
