Good find, Nancy,
William Chitwood, was the first Chitwood found in early Virginia land
patents. His headright for transporting him there in 1636, was claimed by
Isabell Thresher, widow of Robert Thresher. Possibly this was the William
Chit(t)wood who was supposed to marry Elizabeth Williams in 1640?
"Issabell Thresher, Widdow, 450 acs. upon the back cr. of the new Poquoson
river. Nly. upon Thomas Brice, Sly. towards to old Poquoson, Ely, upon the
head of a small Cr. upon Thomas Symons & Wly. into the woods. 50 acs. for
the per. adv. of her late husband Robert Thresher, 50 acs. for her own per.
adv. & 350 acs for trans. of 7 pers: Robt Thresher, Jr., Jon. Billings, Wm.
Chitwood, Roger Lewis, Abraham Pelhire, John Baker, Jon. Pigion. 16 Feb
1636."

Hi, I'm searching another Pamela...I don't remember the new name since her wedding( with Franck, Shrimsheck, I believe?), but she is the daughter of Claudia C. Weller(before wedding Claudia Chitwood), who wrote 'one of dozen sasser'... And I'm the son 'out of wedlock' of her brother Paul(Claudia is my aunt, I met her in 1973 and she offer me the book. where my line is missing...), ... Born after he met my mother in vietnam in 1953. The other son of Paul (Paul too) traited in the book is my half brother. just would like to have contacts with these families... Thanks, from france
