Andy Anderson had posted a message regarding Tulie Alvira Chitwood, the wife of Edward F. Greene who was his mother's father. He was my great grandfather. I am looking for any information about his father and mother and other relations of Edward F. Greene. Also any information on the Chitwood side would be most helpful. Thank you. Sharon

Betty - I had a great-aunt Goldie who died in Chickasha, OK in the 70's. She was the daughter of John Logan Chitwood and Rachel Lou (Shipley) Chitwood. A few of her siblings were Jack Pleasant, Earl Clinton (my grandfather), Ross, Roy, Charlie and Stella.
I do not know the names of Aunt Goldie's husband or children. My mother is no longer living, but she has several living siblings who may know.
Please let me know if your Goldie and mine appear to be the same, and I will make inquiries among my aunts and uncles.

Creed C. Chitwood son of Mathew Chitwood and Judith
Woody. He was born in Franklin Co, VA and died in either Grant Co, or Barren Co, KY. Found tombstone of Mildred V. Cox, his wife. She was buried in the Cox family cemetery at Hiseville, Barren Co, KY. Her tombstone reads:
Mildred V. Chitwood, Wife of, C.C. Chitwood, Born Nov 39, 1827, Died May 28, 1869, "She was a warm and affectionate wife and mother and friend to all." Her footstone reads "M.V.C."
No one in the Cox family can find Mildred's connection to other relatives researching the Cox line. She is somehow related to my ggrandmother Elizabeth Cox, they are buried in the same cemetery. She was married to my ggrandfather George W. Jameson.

Hi,
The information on Thomas Chetwood is the only information I have from Sheri. As I said, I have written to her for documentation.
All the other information is what I have from numerous sources, census, birth, death, marriage records, etc. So, please disregard the info on Thomas Chetwood for the time being.
I believe that genealogy is trial and error. You get lots of info and you weed through it until you find the truth.
