Seth Chitwood, Will dated 23 Feb 1850, proved 3 Sept 1850 Ralls County,
MO, Will Book B, p. 110:
In the name of God Amen, I Seth Chitwood Senior, being of sound mind, memory
and understanding and impressed with the great uncertainty of life and
the certainty of death, and being desirous to dispose of my temporal affairs,
so that after my death no contention may arise relative to the same, therefore
I Seth Chitwood Senior of the County of Ralls and State of Missouri, do
make ordain publish and declare this my last will and testament.
In the first place I assign my body to the dust and my soul to God, and
my wish is that after my death my body shall be buried in a decent Christian
like manner. I dispose of my worldly goods as follows, my Just debts are
to be paid first, out of my estate (if any debts there is)
In the first place my beloved brother John Chitwood, has had I think about
an equal portion of my estate already in favours, I have done him through
life, and I therefore give and bequeath all my estate; real and personal
or mixed of any kind whatever to my six nephews To wit,
James Chitwood, John Chitwood, Richard Chitwood, Hiram Chitwood, Amos Chitwood
sons of my brother Richard Chitwood deceased, and Stephen Burts son of
my sister Caty Burts, to be equally divided amongst them, all to have and
to hold the same, to them and their heirs forever and my request is for
them to divide the property amongst themselves, with as little expense
as possibly they can,
In testimony whereof I have this 23rd day of February one thousand eight
hundred & fifty hereto set my hand and seal In presence of John Helms,
Serena Chitwood, Abner Smith.

I have to share this with everybody. I did not think Ann could get these on
so quick, but she did. I still have to do the index for all of them. She has
made these to easy to read, I cannot believe it.
For some reason my AOL had a hard time pulling them up so I just went on our
MSN that we have and it came right up.
Love & Hugs,
Betty
