Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

I forgot to mention that the Chitty family did indeed come from England and were very wealthy family at one time. I remember my grandfather saying that the ancester that left England for America was a Duke. I cannot remember his first name, but you might try starting there. I can't remember what year they left England but that part of the family came over to Louisana and there are still Chitty's in that state.

My Step grandfather was Roger Chitty. His family was from Louisiana But he married Laura Moye ,she was born in southeast Texas. After they married they moved to Freer Texas. They eventually moved to Carrizo Springs, Texas. My grandfather passed away and is buried in Carrizo. My Uncle Wayne lives there with his family. My grandmother is in a nursing home now somewhere near there. My stepdad is Alfred Chitty. He lives in Leggett,Texas with my sister. He and my mom live there and are in there 70's. Dad is in poor health and has done alot of geneology. They lost alot in hurricane Rita and dont Know if he has much left but through all the strokes and heart attacks his memory is still sharp as a tack.You really have to listen as his voice has been affected, but you can understand him. He just can't speak very loudly. My grandmother is in her 90's and still very much in the know. You might contact my uncle Wayne in Carrizo Springs, Texas and he can help you get in touch with my gra!
