I am descended from Charles Chitty (b. 1804, Forsyth County, N. Carolina) & his wife, Lucy Schott who had a family of eight children. John Norman, their youngest child, (b. 1846 in N. Carolina) married Eliza Hege and started their family of seven children. The two oldest were born in N. Carolina while the others were born in Collin County, Texas near Farmersville. My grandmother was the first of these Texan children & she was born in 1877. Two of the boys, Orvill & Lafayette, married & moved to W. Texas while the others lived their lives in Collin County.
I would be interested in sharing more information.
Happy Trails!

Where did your Chitty family call home? My Chitty line comes from North Carolina & then to Texas.
I have not traced the family back to England---yet; however, I do believe that the line comes from there.

Pamela,
I was really surprised to read your post. My father, Jakie Chitty, was also born in 1913 and died in 1980!
