Thank you for sharing your informtion on ancestry.com. It has helped me expand my knowledge of my Chittick branch. William Chittick (1803-1888) was my third great grandfather and Sydney Johnstone Chittick (1903--1988) was my grandmother. My Sandra Shaw Family Tree is also public. Now that I know what I didn't know when I started, I will be going back and adding your name as credit to any documents I copied. I live in Lacey, WA. Please feel free to contact me direct a sandibranz(a)gmail.com.

Hi there, there is a lot of information here however in my preview Rootsweb does not seem to allow paragraphs.....
Sydney Johnstone Chittick was born 23 July 1903 in Mavis Valley, Cadder. This area is now part of Bishopbriggs just 3 or so miles from me.....
Sydney's parents were George Chittick and Anne Cairney. they married 28 October 1892 in Slamannan, Stirlingshire. Anne was born about 1875 to John Cairney and Ann Sneddon.....
George Chittick was born 11 Feb 1870 in Lochfauld Cottages, Cadder. He was illigitimate and no father is listed on his birth certificate. He was born to Esther Chittick......
Esther was born 9 Apr 1849 in Kingston, Kilsyth - about 10 miles or so from Cadder. She was one of 6 children born to William Chitticks and Elizabeth Morrison. However as both parents had prior relationships there are a further 6 step brothers and sisters......
William Chittick was born about 1803 in Ireland to a John Chittick. William died 4 Jan 1888 in Slamannan......
William's first wife was Sidney Johnstone born about 1821 Ireland and died between 1841-45. Their children were:
Henry, John (the father of Henry Johnstone of the rootsweb thread), Margaret, Gavin, Eliah......
All these children were born Ireland between 1830-1840......However by 1841 the family were in Glasgow, Scotland - although he did return to Ireland for a while in the 1860s with his second wife Elizabeth Morrison......
Elizabeth Morrison was born 16 Dec 1819 in Kilsyth to George Morrison and Grace or Grizzel Gardner. Elizabeth had a previous daughter (another of the step-siblings) Grizzel born out of wedlock in 1841 in Kilsyth. Elizabeth Morriosn died 10 Apr 1891 in Carluke......
Although I have a direct connection to the Chitticks it is actually not through this line. However through spooky co-incidence I have found a link to both Henry Johnstone & Margaret Marshall. My great aunt married a George Bankier Bryson. George's great aunt was Margaret Marshall and he was the grandson of Henry Johnstone Chittick's uncle!.....
Please let me know if you would like any further information or copies of certificates. I can be reached directly on elvandar(a)globalet.co.uk
