Dear Sharon Chittick:
My name is George Poole, Houston, Texas, age 75.
I found your name in a query Roy Chittick popped into my mailbox. No offense, but I get fairly brazen chasing this SURNAME. Please read on in explanation.
My father, Oliver Wilson Poole (deceased 1972) was the son of George Andrew Pool(e) (d. 1928, the end of the month I was born in) - - - I need to add my heritage is compounded by George's and William's, Andrew's ---- seems as tho they learned how to spell that moniker and just stuck with it through a good many generations. Anyway, Grandfather Geo Andrew married my Grandmother, Mary Alice Chittick, - probably born in Orangeville, Ontario, Canada. I might add that I have oodles of Canadian Cousins, and at a Poole Family Reunion held in Lethbridge, Alberta in August of 1998, I got to meet most all of them for the first time. Remarkably, they ALL turned out to be quite pleasant folk and I have earnestly attempted to carry on Snail Mail or Email communications with them since that occasion.
At that time I had plead my case in an effort to learn more about the Chittick side of the family. One Cousin, Evelyn Smith was actually raised by Grandmother Chittick/Pool(e), however, she was in very poor health, not prone to writing, and hesitant to relate much about Grandmother. Forgive me, but comments by others at the "Reunion" described her as being somewhat of a 'haughty English bitch," unpleasant and uncompromising.
At this writing I have no idea who you are or what, if any, relationship you might be to me. Through Denny, Roy, and Kyle I have communicated from time to time always hoping THEY might be able to assist me in my quest for more information on my CHITTICK heritage.
Interestingly, my Gmother Mary Alice Chittick Pool(e)'s father was Sgt William R. Chittick, b. 1827, Orilla, Simco, Ontario. d.November 5th, 1902, and is buried in the Old Soldier's Home Cemetery located in Hot Springs, South Dakota. In '98 my wife and I visited this site and were somewhat challenged to find the state of dis-repair and care the State of SD is providing this Cemetery since the Federal Gov't willed it to the State many years ago. Remarkable in that the Federal Gov't provides a ample stipend to keep the place up, and yet it was quite obvious the State has been buy Oreo cookies or Little Debbies with THOSE funds. Shame on them.
I would hope that at some time in the near future you respond to this query, - at my age I don't purchase green bananas, or fritter with a lot of nonsense over the spilt-milk of life.
I have a fair number of Chitticks in my data base, - but obviously no "Sharon's"
Thank you for reading this and hopefully I will hear from you before I am in the GREAT beyond!

I am not a member of the Chittick family, but have been clearing out some research papers created by Marion Keffer. She had copied vital records, census info, newspaper notes etc on to slips of paper. There is a stack just over an inch in height, some marked 'duplicate'. I will send them to the first person who is willing to pay the postage to get them.

There is a consortium of researchers who are searching to establish the relationship of all branches of Chittick in Nor
th America. Principal to this group are Denny Chittick and cousin Kyle Chittick from Phoenix and Spokane respectively. They have established www.chittick.com. At least seven other dedicated researchers are involved and I'm the principal Canadian. Denny has information on the branch you are researching but has been unable to make contact tthrough the address he has, "sharonchittick(a)mp.sympatico.ca". Denny's address is "dennychittick(a)yahoo.com" I recommend you call him. Also I'd like the Chittick connection in Canada
