Dear all
My great-great-great-great grandfather Crawford Chitticks arrived in
Glasgow, Scotland c. late 1830s having been born in 1819/20 Co. Fermanagh,
Ireland. I am aware that there are many Chitticks in Fermanagh, however,
I'm not sure how to link Crawford to any of them. However the name Crawford
itself seems fairly unusual and I would appreciate if anyone could let me
know if sounds familiar, as I am anxious to take this line further back.
For those interested Crawford married Mary Mackie and they had seven
children:
Jane born circa 1838
Crawford born circa 1841
Sarah born circa 1844
Mary Ann born circa 1847
Isabella born circa 1851
George born circa 1854 (possibly called Gavin)
My line was through Sarah Chitticks, however, I do have more information on
all the family, as I'm afraid that they often had to rely on applying for
Poor Law relief. On a positive side, this at least gives me a lot of
information from the archives which I will be happy to share.
Thank you
Jennifer Roe
