I've posted several messages regarding Harriet (Chittenden) Loomis, wife of Jerome B Loomis. Still looking for the source of her parents being Thomas Chittenden and Mary Cavanaugh. There are major problems with this line. I now have documented what I consider proof that her father could not be Thomas Chittenden, the son of Noah and grandson of Thomas, the VT and CT Chittendens that I will share with anyone. He could be another Thomas. However, today I found the following entry in Ancestry under Michigan Marriages to 1850, "Jerome B Loomis married Harriet TUCKER 13 Dec 1846 in Cass County, MI". Was she divorced/widowed from TUCKER or was her name never Chittenden? Anyone have facts? The DOM date is the Loomis DOM date(year only)everyone has used. My email is laxrebel(a)live.com if you want details on my Thomas report. Will exchange offline with anyone on this mess.

Who has the recorded original source for the 1820 date commonly being used on her family trees? In five Federal Census' for 1850, 1860, 1870, 1880 and 1900, Harriet herself states her age indicating a birth year of 1821, never as 1820, and states that year specifically on the 1900 census; Feb 1821. A date calculator tool always yields 1821 based on the census dates. Was she wrong?
