Hello Chittenden posters,
I am in the process of adding to my database of descendants of Anne
Lloyd. She married (1) Thomas Yale abt 1612 and (2) Theophilus Eaton abt
1625. Theophilus Eaton co-founder and colonial governor of New Haven
Colony. She and her second husband came to New England 26 Jun 1637,
landing in Boston on the "Hector" from London. I am descended from the
first marriage through her son Thomas Yale who married Mary Turner, 1645 in
New Haven.
One of Anne Lloyds descendants is Elizabeth Yale, dau of Captain Thomas
Yale and Elizabeth Gibbard. Elizabeth Yale was born 25 Jul 1673 in
Wallingford, CT.
In Donald Lines Jacobus, "Families of Ancient New Haven", 8:2031, he states
that she married William Chittenden of G(uilford).
In Rodney Horace Yale's "Yale Genealogy and History of Wales", page 123,
her spouse is listed as Joseph Chittenden.
Has anyone seen this Elizabeth Yale in their research?
By the way, if you are a descent of this marriage, it is interesting to
note that both Thomas Yale and Anne Lloyd have significant royal ancestry.
Would like to find out who Elizabeth Yale's spouse really was. any help
appreciated.
