For some time I've recorded the Bingham family of VA into Montgomery
Co., NC and or Randolph Co., NC. My grandmother -- born a Wright, gave
me her genealogies.
I've seen several genealogies posted which are incorrect. This Bingham
line came from the areas of Hanover County, VA, and the Thomas Bingham
m. Elinor (Chisum) Luck came into NC from Danville Co., VA along with
Crawfords, his kin and Clarks into then Anson Co., NC where they left
many records. At the time parts of now SC were thought to be in NC and
records were kept in Anson Co., NC.
Thomas Bingham (perhaps his father or grandfather was a Beanham
imported) m. Elinor Chishum as his second wife and she was first married
to a Mr. Luck who died in the vicinity of Danville, VA. I am unaware of
older children, but one on world connects claims this line, which may be
correct -- from the first wife.
_
__Here's what was recorded in Montgomery Co., NC family records and in
the vertical files of other Bingham's in this area._
1. Thomas Bingham, Sr. m. a Crawford daughter of a David Crawford of
Hanover Co., VA area.
2. Thomas Bingham, Jr, m. Elinor Chisum Luck the widow Luck
3. Michael Bingham 1787 m. Frances Clark
4. Lavinia Bingham 12 Nov. 1827, 12 Sep. 1879, NC m. (3 May 1843) James
Alvis Wallace, 24 Apr. 1821, NC - 23 Feb. 1870, NC
5. Cornelia Wallace, 9 Mar 1850 - 13 Feb. 1913 m. (15 Mar 1868), James
Wright, ------.... of Montgomery Co., NC.
It appears Elinor Chisum's father was a John Chism of the same Hanover
area, one record said he married a Crawford. But were linked to the
Rush family into NC.
The Clarks, Binghams and Crawfords all came into NC from Danville, Va
and before that in Hanover Co., VA. The Clarks had already been settling
along the Pee River, onto Clark's Creek, in now Montgomery Co., NC.
Anson Co., NC records a deed wherein Bingham, Clark and Crawford all are
together as co owners.
The first Thomas Bingham m. a Crawford dau of a David Crawford in
Hanover area. This marriage is disputed by a later date marriage of a
female of the same name who was a daughter of David's son in Hanover.
Two David Crawfords, same name daughters. Frances Clark.

Hope to connect to others of this effort. Wallace line connected to
Suggs and Rush.
DNA goes a long ways to establish genealogy cousins. I have had several
DNA tests made (I'm a viking haplo), and had 3 of them from different
companies uploaded to gedmatch.com. Gedmatch.com is a free service which
uploads your tests in to computers and compares autosomal DNA SNPs with
others who also are using the service. Your only cost will be the test
kit from a company of your selection, about 100 dollars.
If you are getting older (join the club) your test will place you a
generation closer in time to these surnames, and closer to solutions.
The free service may not remain free, as once they are able to connect
names to the DNA SNP sniplets, they will charge and send you a completed
genealogy, with names - proven for a fee. Remember your cousin may
already have one at one of the companies, so use it perhaps.
I made my kits public, along with a database. So if you have any of
these surnames check my public kits at gedmatch.com with yours. Kits,
A110102, A169137 and M103603. I have already hits some cousins from
these surnames.
