Regarding Mary Bass Chisum family
I have been researching Richard Alonzo "Lon" Bass for a few years. His trail is long and adventurous. Lon was born in 1856 in Meansville, TX and died in Douglas, AZ in early 1902. He was shot by an Arizona Ranger named W.W. Webb in the saloon he owned at the time. The controversy surrounding the shooting led to a murder trial for Webb.
Mary Bass Chisum was born in San Patricio County, Texas in 1859. She went to Victoria College and may have been a nurse. I know she died in Piedras Negras about the year 1900 but so far I can't track down the year. I think she is buried near her mother in Piedras Negras but I have not been able to confirm that.
I have been looking for years for a photograph showing Lon and his fmaily. He was married and had several daughters and one son. If you know of anyone that might have a photo that would be great.
