I am also curious about the information regarding Jensie. I believe that she was around 15 years old when she was purchased from her original owners. I think they came from Virgina, but I'm not 100% sure. (the information I have is oral info.) Because there isn't any mention of the surname of the slave owners this may be hard to verify. If you have any additional regarding Jensie Please forward to me.
(I have the same info you do regarding Almeady Chisum Jones Have you tried to contact the surviving family?)

Melinda E. Chisum w/o Andrew Parker and daughter of Obadiah Chisum Found!! While researching the Chisholm/Chism/Chisum family in Franklin Co, Al, I came across a Mary Ann Chisum, age 17, in the household of Andrew Parker in the 1850 Census. Subsequent research revealed that Mary Ann was the daughter of Thomas E Chisum, son of Obadiah Chisum of Robertson Co, TN. Thomas E. and his wife both died in 1833 and their children split up among relatives. Up until know, Mary Ann has been unaccounted for until her marriage to James Harris Curnutt. The 1850 Census of Franklin Co, Al shows Andrew Parker's wife to be Melinda E. born ca 1809 in Ky. I searched the Ebenezer Church Cemetery in Franklin Co and found Malinda E. Parker (wife of Andrew Parker) born 5/7/1808 died 10/31/1867. The Chism Bible shows that Melinda E. Chisum was born 5/7/1808. These exact birth dates of Melinda E. Parker and Melinda E. Chisum, the fact that Mary Ann Frances Chisum was the niece of Melinda E. Chisum, the!
fact that Melinda E. Chisum's brother, Gillington Chisum, was living in the same county as was the family of her brother, John until 1849, the fact that both Malindas were born in Ky all lead to the inescapable conclusion that Malinda E. Chisum was the wife of Andrew Parker. There is another thing, that tends to verify this conclusion. The 1830 Census shows that Malinda's father, Obadiah, was living next door to a Parker. Hence when her brother Thomas died in 1833, it is highly probably that she was living next door to the Parker family (Nathanial or Benjamin..I can't put my hands on that document) . This leads me to believe that Andrew Parker was the son of the Parker in the 1830 Census of Robertson Co, TN. and next door to Obadiah Chisum. One other thing. Malinda E. Chisum also had a brother, John W. Chisum who married a Sarah Parker in Va on 12/7/1812. Sarah was living in the same area of Franklin Co until she moved to Itawamba Co MS in 1849. On researching that Parker !
line, Sarah's father was William, I know they were from Va and some w
ent to NC. It is highly likely that the Christina Parker, age 89, b in Va as shown in Andrew's household in 1850, is Andrew's mother and Andrew's father came to NC from Va. I hope this is of some use to someone.
W.L. Chisholm
