Subject: [Chisum] Clive Chism (b. 8-27-1902) married Edward Lovick
Pierce (1893-1944)
My great grandfather's younger brother, Edward Lovick Pierce married
Miss Clive Chism. She was born Aug 27, 1902.
Edward Lovick Pierce was a soldier in WWI. They likely met and married
after he returned from overseas. He was born March 1, 1893, son of Rev.
Thomas Roberts Pierce and Sarah Elizabeth Snyder.
I would like to hear from anyone researching Chisms who may have come
across Clive Chism or possibly her parents. I wish I had more
information to go on. Perhaps I will post again later once I have
located more records.
Incidentally, I found a brief biographical sketch in Seymour Connor's
"The Peters Colony of Texas" of a Mr. Pleasant G. Chisum who came to the
colony prior to 1848 as a single man. The sketch didn't mention from
where he migrated. The reason I found this person Pleasant G. Chisum of
interest is that Edward's maternal grandfather John Snyder and Edward
Willburn -- father and grandfather of the above-mentioned Sarah
Elizabeth Snyder Pierce -- were also settlers in the Peters Colony.
I hope some of this information is helpful or interesting to someone...
Regards,
Walker Pierce
