Yes, Please , I can't connect to any of the Chism's in Ark. There was
Ignatious, JOhn D. and then then Cow John, and no one seems to know who this
Elisha or Winnie or Benjamin is, it may be a start, Vickie

know of a Benjamin Chism (not my line I don't "think" listed in Ohio - can
give you info if you think it would help you or anyone else. The family was

Dear Chisholm /Chism Researchers,
I am writing to ask a favor of all of those Chisholms/Chisms who are
researching the family of Adam Chisholm of Virginia,if they would be so kind
as to keep an eye out for any slave information while they are doing their
research, I have been researching Ned Chisholm who was owned by David
Chisholm Jr., and then to his brother Thomas and then to their cousin Suprey
Chisholm, I have some information but not to much. these Chisholmes lived in
Rocky Creek, Chester County South Carolina. Many of you are looking for their
relatives in Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi and some who went to Missouri. I
am also looking for the bible of Thomas Chisholme , I saw that it was
supposed to be a copy in the Alan County Library, but they didn't have it
when I contacted them. So If any one has any information I would appreciate
if you would share it with me. and Iwould be happy to share what I have.
thank you in advance.
Sincerely,
Antoinette Russell
Yes, I did contact her, and she didn't reconize any of those names, I wish
she could have, Thanks vickie

Hello, it's been a while since I posted my info last, but I know someone out there may know something about this line?
Here is goes.
I am searching for info on a Elisha Chisum who died in 1827, Lawrence county, Ark.bonded was a Winnie Chisum, executrix. bonded were two fellows by the last name of Robertson.
Then in about 1834, a Mrs. Winniefred Chisolm was listed as one of nine people in Izard county, Ark. as one of the Pioneers and Makers of Ark. Then we find her in Randolph county, Ark. 1850, age 64, born Nc. with a son named Russell.
In the Lawrence county, Ark. loose probate records
adm'r. 18, Sept. 1837, J.B.E. Elkins appointed
Gdn. George Washington Chism, gdn. for the minor heirs of Issac Knighton, dec'd.
Kinghton, Wesly, Nancy Ann, Emiline Jane, William Yourk, Isacc Jackson and Elizabeth ( minors)
gdn. April 20, 1843, George Washinton Chism appt'd for the first four who were over age 14.
gdn. april 1843, George Washington Chism appt'd for Isaac Jackson and Elizabeth Knighton who were under age 14.
included in his folder are 1852, estate papers for Wesly Knighton, dec'd.
I beleive this family is somehow connected to the Benjamin Chism who was born 1796, birhtplace inknown.
wife was Polly, born 1803, Nc. children were Benjamin , William, Isham, Washinton, Henderson, James, Elizabeth, Winnie,Thomas and one more we think Elisha. This family was in Izard county, ARk. 1850
Then in 1860
there was a William Chism born 1827, wife Mary, child Thomas age 1
living next door to them was an
Elisha Chism born Ark. born 1821, wife Mathela age 36, Children Benjamin and Polly.
living next door to them was
J. H. Chism born 1830, Ala.wife Sarah born Tn.
children Benjamin age 3, Jane 9/12, and a Henderson age 14
I am hopeing someone may have a clue as to who the Winniefred Chisum was? she was born abt.1786.
With her being in Izard county, about. 1834, she may somehow be connected to my Chisum family in Izard. Thanks
Vickie
Hi Vickie. I've been watching your postings. Did you ever get in touch with
Virginia Chism Nichols? I'm sure there people are descendants of the Western
Kentucky Chisms and that is her line. She also has the information from the
Chism Family Reunion. She is the elected secretary. vnichols(a)hit.net. Also
you may find some help from the Chism Family Association. Membership is:
CFA Memabership $4.00 per address---Genealogical research (V. Nichols)
$2.00---Web site fund (V. Nichols) $2.00.
The four dollars membership is the only requirement for membership. The rest
is optional. Information in the newsletter is worth the four dollars.
Make check payable to:
Mike McMillen, Treasurer

Columbia, MO 65203-6626
I don't know if this will help you but you really seem to be struggling with

I am searching for John Richard Chism/Chisum born in Kentucky, 1850. His
family moved to Fort Bend County Texas in 1871. Possibly John migrated
earlier to Oklahoma. Any help would be appreciated. He's our lost ancestor.
Good afternoon,
I am still searching for information on Edward Ned Chisholm born Chester,
county South Carolina in 1814, He had a two brothers and a sister that I know
of, William and Dudley and sister Hannah. Their mother was Bridget and she
also was owned by David Chisholme Jr. and passed on to his brother Thomas and
then to their cousin Suprey Chisholm. In 1867 Ned and his brothers brought
land in Gainesville, Florida for 30,000 pounds of sea island cotton. I am
trying to find slave information and also information after they were free. I
know that there are a lot of people researching the Chism Family, I would be
more than thankful if any one researching this family would share the
information with me, and I would be more than happy to share what I know.
Thank you in advance.
Antoinette
