Hello, I am searching for information of a Willim Chisum born around
1826, He married a Mary Artimes Lewallen , somewhere in Tennessee, we
have heard Knoxville Tennessee.
William and Mary Had children
John Green Chisum who had two wives and Nancy Morris, and a lady by the
last name of Goswick.
Thomas Marion or T.C. Chisum married Alabama Reeves.
and they had a daughter named mary Chisum who moved out west with
relatives. we can't find anything about her.
Both of their sons John Green and Thomas Marion Chisum served in the
civil war.
William died around 1899, we have heard Missouri. We don't know exactly
where?
After his death Mary Artimes Lewallen Chisum married a man by the last
name to Thorton. They had a daughter named Sarah Thorton.
Mr. Thorton died and Mary Artime Chisum Lewallen remarried again to a
William Bales Sr.
and they had a son named William Bales Jr.
I find them in Izard county, ark. and in Pope county, Ark.
John Green, Thomas, and Mary were all born Ark.
Mary Artimes Lewallen Chisum Thorton Bales is buried at the Yell
cementary in Yell county, Ark.
Oh and the mary Chisum that went out west we think married a Hopkins, no
facts thought to back it up.
John Green and Thomas Marion, and Alabama Reeves Chisum are buried at
the Boyd Cementary on , Pope county, Ark.
One old timer speaks of the Chisum boys as being bootleggers and that
one of them did time in jail for the offense, Can anyone tell me where I
might find copies of this?
Some of the Chsium family still live in Pope county, today?
I am also hopeing someone may know the parents of William Chisum, and
where he may have been from? I will gladly share the info I have on this
line, thanks Vickie
