Message Board Post:
I just located the marriage record for Nancy Chism and Richard Jones, married 1817 in Clark County, KY.
She was born in 1801 and passed in 1874. I also located her will solidifying that she is the mother of my John A Jones. They are all buried in the same plot in the Winchester cemetery in Winchester, Ky
I would like to have information on who her parents are, her siblings and any other generations.
Thank you.

Leann Corrigan wrote in March 2000: "... my husbands
family,his grandfather was fred chism b.mar.19, 1891-
d.dec.19,1983. ... They all came from Meade County,
Kentucky."
This is very interesting! Those are the exact dates
of my mother's Uncle Fred Chism. My mother was not
aware of Uncle Fred having any children, and she
thought that she knew him and his wife pretty well!
(I just called her a while ago to ask her about this.)
She said that when he died, there weren't many heirs
and that most of his inheritance went to a nephew.
As Ms. Corrigan wrote, they all came from Meade
County, Kentucky.

Rev. Abraham Bennett's wife Martha Jane Chism was a sister of my great-great-grandfather John Henry Chism. (In my family we were always told that their surname was spelled "Chisholm", but I've found that in Meade County, Kentucky, there appear to be almost no instances of that spelling of the surname in any official sense. There is one headstone with that surname in a cemetery in Wolf Creek.)
I believe that John Henry Chism's wife was Catherine "Kitty" Ann Thompson, who - I believe - later in life married Charles Baysinger. (In my family we were always told that her name was "Katie Baysinger".)
John Henry and Kitty had a daughter Isabell (who I believe must have been nicknamed "Biddie" in her youth, although my mother and her siblings apparently never heard that name). Isabell is my great-grandmother. She married Stephen Douglas Chism, son of Gabriel Chism and Hester Ann Sewell and grandson of John Chism and Margaret Tibbs.
Stephen and Isabell's daughter Evalina is my grandmother. She married Christopher Columbus Singleton, my grandfather. C.C. Singleton's parents were John Henry Singleton and Amanda Jane Bennett. Amanda Jane's parents were Johnson Bennett, Jr, and Hester Greer, but I don't yet know their relationship to Rev. Abraham Bennett. John Henry Singleton's parents were Rev. Benjamin Franklin Singleton and Martha Ann Allen.
So I'm interested in the surnames Allen, Bennett, Chism (or Chisholm - or "Chisolm", as Laura Bush's people spell it), Greer, Sewell, Singleton, Thompson, and indirectly, Baysinger. More surnames on this side of my ancestry are Dailey, Johnson, Neafus, Shumate, and Youtsler - and at least two more that I don't know yet (Catherine Thompson's mother Ellen ______ and Hester Greer's mother.)
